What a super cute hotel for our girls weekend. The little touches in the room and the cute beach balls in the pool area just put it over the top for us. The decor was really cool and the location was PERFECT. We walked to dinner and walked around CSU campus and to the old town area. We'll definitely be coming back here should we find ourselves in Ft Collins again. #fingerscrossed

The only thing we would say was a negative at all was that there was not a small refrigerator for left overs and sinks but other than that it was awesome! We will be back for sure.

This is a boutique hotel that is also a Best Western. The location is amazing, it is right across from the CSU campus. We stayed there for CSU orientation and plan to do so again for move in. The rooms are nicely decorated and parts have been updated. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room did not have a mini fridge or a coffee maker, I'm not sure if that's consistent across all rooms, but be aware if you are counting on those. It is walking distance to several restaurants and has plenty of parking. We will definitely be back!

The property was fine, the staff performed to the best of their ability, and the amenities were nice. However, there was some confusion when I checked out one night earlier than anticipated. My partner and I left early due to a family emergency, and when I asked about a partial refund, I was directed to Expedia, where I booked. When I attempted to reach Expedia, I was directed to the travel insurance that I’d purchased. To be honest, it felt like no one wanted to be say, “You’re not going to receive a partial reimbursement”, which sucked.

Recently updated. Fun decor. Pool and hot tub were nice. Didn't have very much interaction with staff other than the woman who checked us in, but she was pleasant and courteous. The room was nice, with lots of new things, but have a couple of aspects that seem a bit like a "polished turd". I say that lightly and would certainly stay here again. The only annoyances were we were there for 3 nights and there was no fridge in our room, and the scent of the provided soaps, shampoo, and conditioner was like bug spray. The AC was very loud in my opinion . Certainly wouldn't matter to someone who isn't a light sleeper.

This was the first time I stayed at The Buxton, a Best Western Motel. I stayed here because of the close proximity to the Colorado State University campus. This motel was built in the 1960s and was recently renovated. My room had a wonderful retro vibe that made it quite relaxing! My room included a king-sized bed, which was very comfortable. Overall, the room was clean and cozy. The shower had excellent water pressure and plenty of towels and washcloths are provided in the tiled-floor bathroom. Parking is free, with a lot of available spaces. Checking in and out was a breeze and the front-desk staff are very courteous. I would definitely stay here again. The motel restaurant was closed due to renovations (will open in a couple of weeks), but there are plenty of great breakfast options in historic downtown Fort Collins. My only criticism: the desk in the room is ridiculously narrow in terms depth/width, which was located directly under the wall-mounted flat screen TV. I suppose this was chosen for the sake of space. A desk with a more standard width would be more functional for guests.

4/10 Poor

Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
Disliked: Amenities
The remodel is very cute and kitschy. However, the "xtra" they advertise is mostly fluff (vintage clothing rack in lobby, old-school bikes, a red light therapy mask in room). They should focus on useable amenities. The room A/C is loud (set off my Apple Watch loud noise alert) and the bed is extremely squeaky. The iron is a flimsy, unusable appliance. You have to go to the front desk to get ice or use a microwave. There are no mini fridges in the room. The only table in the room was taken over for the red light mask promotion. We paid extra for a "breakfast included" rate to find out at check-in that they do not offer it, despite having a new restaurant (still waiting on my refund of the difference). Check-in was a nightmare as they didn't know how to transfer our prepayment from Hotels.com. On the plus side: the the lighted bathroom mirror is very cool as is the indoor pool. The staff was friendly and tried very hard to help with our issues but weren't trained well enough to do so (or not given the authority). Maybe once they've been re-opened longer, things will get better?
