This gem of a bed and breakfast is perfect for an authentic experience of the Keys! The staff was wonderful and loved hearing the owners story! Conveniently located close to Duval. Everything including a beautiful local inlet within a 10 - 15 min walk. We will definitely be staying again soon.

I gave this place 5 stars bc of how awesome hospitable kind & precious Roman is - front desk. He made our trip better than it would’ve been if we didn’t meet him. I think he’s the happiest most kind human ever. The pool was nice and clean/ quiet. Basics for breakfast - can’t complain. In a great area. We will go again bc of Roman.

Great location, great owners and staff, great bed, really enjoy coffee and breakfast offerings every morning. Pool water looked like it was due for cleaning. Our room temp was ok, AC really struggled with the July heat. Only reason rating was 4 and not 5 stars.

We can't speak highly enough about the staff - Daniel, Emma, and Roman - who went well out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. The facility definitely needs updating, which is currently being done room by room, but even though "tired" the rooms were remarkably clean. Breakfast is standard continental fare. Air conditioning is window units but extremely effective. The pool is nice and typically uncrowded. The facility is extremely quiet, both the location of the building itself and the rooms individually. We would definitely stay at the Independent Inn again and recommend it to others.

This hotel had a name change since we booked it a few months ago. There isn't someone in the office if you need your luggage held, but they did say this will change soon with the new owners. I believe they are in the process of remodeling and upgrading things like A/C's etc... It definitely needs an upgrade. Overall not bad, but I wouldn't of booked it if I'd known the transition situation.

The stay here was pleasant & quiet. We stayed in room 5. It was small but cute. The shower will take a long time to heat up, and the toilet sits very low to the floor. There are not many outlets in this room and the one by the chair and bathroom door dosent work. We had also anticipated using the pool during our stay, but it was not running and dirty the entire week. Kind of bummed about that. Breakfast consisted assorted breakfast cereals, and plate of cold cuts ham slices and cheese, Bagels, bread, fruits. The coffee was in unmarked thermos's and didn't stay hot very long. Overall the property is in a quiet, walkable location, convenient to the Marina and Duval St.

Unfortunately I would like to leave a good review as Emma who initially checked us in was very nice , however this property was not well maintained at all . The sinks were broken and overflowed when you used them with no stoppers . No staff were there when we needed them and the desk was closed the 2 days we were there. The bed was the hardest bed I”ve experienced in my years of travel and the sheets were a scratchy polyester and hard pillows . We got no sleep the 2 nights we were there and felt awful each morning . The air was turned off in our room amd a sweltering 90 degrees after room was turned after a hot day at sea . It took 2 hours to re cool . The lighting in bathroom had a burnt out light bulb poor . The attention to any detail at this property was extremely disappointing for the high costs we paid for over $500 for 2 nights , all to be uncomfortable. No where to put your toiletries in the bathroom and little or no attention to detail in the room . The breakfast was a few slices of bread on a plate downstairs and cheese it’s in an open box and one small box of raisin bran for a small child and some juice boxes . Won’t be back and very disappointed as Emma was nice and Ramon on the phone , never to see one of them after our stay .

The new owners were so sweet and very helpful! They were doing some remodeling while we were there but they kept the noise to a minimum and were very open about what they were doing. We are looking forward to getting back there on our next visit!
