Disappointing, noisy property in Florence

While the views and location of Florence were good and central respectively, the property itself was very disappointing. The shower didn’t drain properly, the cleanliness of the cutlery was so bad that we didn’t trust our children to use them and so bought our own at a local supermarket, and our children both got splinters from the wooden floor. However, the biggest problem was the entire lack of soundproofing which meant that every morning we were woken at 4-5am due to local deliveries and rubbish trucks.

This apartment is in a fantastic location, and is nicely updated while maintaining its historic charm. A few easily fixable issues kept this apartment from receiving a top rating - located on the top floor of the building with no elevator (which was fine for us but needed to be communicated clearly for anyone that can’t handle that many stairs), the closet doors in the master bedroom wouldn’t open, the shower on the main level wouldn’t drain making it completely unusable, and twin beds in the master bedroom made for a less romantic experience.

This apartment is much smaller than it appeared in on the VRBO website. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. We were unable to stand up completely upstairs, in the 'second bedroom' which was actually a loft. The stairs up to the sixth floor were dark at night.
