The hotel is perfectly situated on the River Arno. The courtyard is lively and the roof terrace has spectacular views. It’s lovely to sit up there watching the sunset with a glass of wine. Our superior room was spacious and faced the courtyard. It was comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast is the most varied continental breakfast I’ve ever seen. We would definystay here again.

What an amazing property. The location is very convenient, the staff was attentive, and view from our room was breathtaking. Great little rooftop for an afternoon drink or to watch sunset. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

PROS - The hotel is in a great location - Our cleaner was lovely and did an amazing clean every day and the towels were super soft - The breakfast range was amazing CONS The online photos of the rooms look lovely, with big windows providing lots of light. Unfortunately we were given room 100, which although a lovely size was: - dark due to having small windows - positioned directly under where the cleaning staff kept their supplies which meant a lot of noise / banging in our room even sometimes at 6:30 in the morning. - a dangerous step down directly after entering the room. The guy who took us to our room just muttered ‘be careful’ as I entered the first time but i had no idea what he was talking about so and almost fell down the step. - the Wifi was extremely patchy and the settings didn’t enable us to join a VPN which we always use when travelling I’m sure the rest of the hotel has beautiful rooms, room 100 is just not one of them.

The hotel property is alongside the Arno river , central to all the shopping areas and great for walking. The hotel itself is beautiful with modern amenities and spacious rooms. My criticisms are:( based on my room experience) 1. There was no full size mirror in the room 2. The WiFi was poor 3. The phone line was down so any communication we wanted to have with the front desk we would have to walk to them 4.I had small flies (that look similar to fruit flies) in the bathroom the 3 nights that I was there. I told the front desk staff and they were receptive to the complaint and tried to deep clean the bathroom and put in an insect destroyer but I still saw 1 after that .

The hotel is lovely and well located. Posh shopping right around the corner. Excellent restaurants all around and the one attached to the hotel is excellent. Staff is lovely. I had an old Italian room turned into a hotel room with the beautiful painted ceiling and all the gorgeous old world trimmings. So nice to see this waking and going to sleep. Beautifully done, so very pleased.

Room changed to a small apartment like room that was at ground floor at rear of proterty with zero natural light and no charm like the reat of the hotel rooms.. bare white walls with low white ceilings - although a large room felt like staying in a cave.. very disapointed as the location is 5stars and im sure the other rooms were great.

Our experience at Il Rivalta was nothing short of perfection. The property is located directly on the Arno River in the heart of the most vibrant part of town, with immediate walking access to most of the major tourist attractions of Firenze. The room was exceptional with a lovely view of the Arno, Ponte Vecchio, and some beautiful sunsets. The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Included breakfast was always outstanding, and the valet and taxi services were quick and efficient. Do not miss the rooftop terrace where you can see 360 views of the city (including the Duomo and the sunset) - we felt that this view was even competitive with Piazzale Michelangelo. Overall, exceptional way to start our first trip to Italia, and we look forward to returning to Firenze and staying at Il Rivalta in the future. Grazie mille!
