Because Tenaya Lodge is a rural location guests should call the hotel if they need additional directions or information on how to get to the hotel. During winter months, chains may be necessary, even for four-wheel-drive vehicles.

Bears inhabit this area. Do not leave food or beverages (including water) in vehicles and heed all other warnings issued by the lodge.

Guests driving to the property should be aware of seasonal road closures. Hwy 120 (Tioga Pass) closes October through late June, restricting east-to-west travel across the park. Yosemite's eastern gate and Tuolumne Meadows are not accessible when Tioga Pass is closed. Guests are advised to check local weather and road conditions/closures with the California Department of Transportation before travel.

We stayed at four locations during our roadtrip from Vegas to the Redwoods, and this was by far our favorite. This was a beautiful property, and was about a 15-minute drive from the Wawona entrance of Yosemite. There were a lot of amenities and it was child friendly, although it would have been just as enjoyable without a child. We stayed in the Timberloft cabins, which felt like a cabin in the woods even though it was actually more of a townhouse concept. We didn’t have great weather conditions and we are not from a mountainous, cold weather climate, but I called and spoke to Trista more than once on the way in and she provided very helpful information that helped ease my concerns. She then provided a lot of useful information about the park and hotel amenities once we got there. Playpens are available for small children. Great stay!

Upon reaching the destination, the staff warmly greeted us and promptly checked us in, providing keys to our room. However, upon discovering an issue with the room's door lock, the receptionist kindly accommodated us by switching our room to one of equal size as originally reserved. One suggestion I have for the receptionist is to consider placing guests with small children on the first floor, as we observed some noisy children on the upper floors during our stay, making it challenging to sleep. Despite this, we had a wonderful day at the hotel, enjoying activities such as bonfires and complimentary s'mores sets. We truly appreciated the hotel's surroundings, which offered a rich history along the drive from Yosemite to Tenaya Lodge.

Stayed in the main hotel. The room was great clean well kept. The amenities were great ice skating rink, bow and arrow range, basketball court, all the nature one can ask for. Indoor pool available although I’m not a fan of indoor pools I would much rather have swim in the outdoor pools for some reason they were closed. Breakfast was great dinner could be better. Overall, for the price and location I would give this place a 4.7!

I had a great experience staying in Tenaya Lodge. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and warm with everything you will need. The restaurant have limited options but the food is good. We eat there 3 times we try the buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. We got to do all the activities they offer. For sure this is my place to stay when we get back to Yosemite.
