6/10 Okay

There were build works outside by terrace overlooking lake with cement mixer and angle grinder cutting stone most of the day the Saturday I was there . Not the best idea with patrons sitting there by temporary plastic tape eating and drinking . Perhaps a fencing of sorts to obscure the works ?

What a lovely location, especially in the summer. Outdoor patio overlooking the pond was so relaxing. Reception were helpful and room was clean. The bar ran out of a few drinks, but it was Bank holiday. Breakfast was congested and badly designed. Staff tried hard to keep up and were working so hard but they needed more help and a better layout.

Fairly typical corporate hotel. Cold and uninviting, but generally clean and well lit, long and labyrinthine corridors, easy to get confused! Nothing special about the food, but beware hidden service charge, only realised after I'd paid and resent this on a simple bar meal where I've gone to the bar to order my overpriced beer.

We had a lovely overnight stay for my best friends birthday , she had a fabulous Driftaway spa treatment with the wonderful Charlotte , the setting of the hotel is beautiful & we enjoyed a leisurely walk around the lake . The room we stayed in hd everything we needed & we lovely & cleam . Food in restaurant was good with plenty of choice, the only small negative was that it was undergoing a refurbishment which limited us to access to bars & dining , but the staff were great , very friendly nothing was too much trouble we had a really lovely relaxing weekend and cannot wait to go back !!

Breakfast time was not very organised, perhaps this was because there was only one member of staff visible. The buffet was very poor. As guests we had to ask for hot food. There were no croissants or bread (which arrived frozen) and very little fresh fruit. Not what we expected for a 4 star hotel.

Nice location, in the deep of Surrey AONB but that’s where it ends. The building itself is dated and needs modernising. It’s great as somewhere to lay your head. Small bathroom, thin pillows and duvets.
