This property is not yet ready to be a short term rental. Personal effects are in the cabin, including clothing. Sheets and towels were not laundered and clean. The washer and dryer are not hooked up. The refrigerator was very dirty, as was the coffeemaker (we refused to use it and went in to town for coffee), and the bathroom (had not been cleaned in a long time). The owner had said that part of the cabin was still under construction so we expected that, but not the mess and dirt. On the plus side, the outdoor grill worked and so did the heat, although the programmable thermostat was not set up, we had to update the time and temp so we were not roasting at night. There is no wifi, but that was not listed as an amenity. The water filter is corroded and long overdue for changing (see photos).This cabin with a great view just needs more work to complete construction, new bed linens, and a professional cleaning before it is ready for guests.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Decks on both sides and I couldn't decide which view I liked better. They were both gorgeous Getting to town in Fairplay took about 5 minutes. We did an excellent tour of the old town and there was a civil war reinactment. Nice to get the feel of how our ancestors lived and how technology has succeeded. I wish we could have stayed longer. We ate at a Mexican restaurant. Try the empanadas. They were so good. It was a very neighborly 4th of July weekend. I might have to book again for next year. We'll be staying longer.
