I spent two nights in this hotel along with three ex colleagues, all of us in our seventies. We each had our own room and the hotel put the rooms close together. From the time we arrived we were made to feel welcome. Probably the most friendly and helpful reception I have come across in a long time. We were all happy with our modern clean rooms. These hotels are not meant for long stays having no safe, cupboards or drawers. There is a wardrobe hanging space though and a table and sofa. The bathroom is superb. Excellent walk in efficient shower with Dove Shampoo and shower gel. I never use hotel products usually ,but the shower gel was lovely. Dove soap by the modern sink too. The bathroom lighting is first class. The bed was comfortable with a choice of hard or soft pillows. The soft pillow was not soft however, not by my definition anyway, but for a couple of nights I managed! The breakfast room is light and airy and there was everything needed for a satisfying breakfast. We visited the Cathedral on our last morning, checked out early and reception looked after our bags. For info, we had arrived at Exeter St David’s Station and used an Apple Taxi, with its office at the station, it seems to be the taxi of choice. It is certainly cheap, it cost just £8 to take the four of us to the hotel and the same on our return!

It was great that we could take our little dog Molly with us we all felt very at home in the relaxed and comfortable surroundings and also the added bonus of breakfast can’t wait till we get to stay at an IHG hotel again soon.
