Ok, my first mistake was traveling over Labor Day weekend. Second mistake was going to Eugene/Springfield during the Ducks home opener. All the hotels I would typically stay in were WAY overpriced! So I ended up staying at Motel 6. You know what? It wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Certainly not the best, but not the worst either. So, here’s my advice, it’s a “freeway adjacent” Motel 6…don’t go in with high expectations and you won’t be disappointed. Was it nice? No. Was it acceptable for the price? Yes. Let’s do this in a pro’s and Cons shall we? Pros - location. It’s not far from anything. There’s a few restaurants, fast food places and a liquor store nearby. The people, both staff and guests in my opinion were friendly enough and welcoming. Price. You get what you pay for; a reasonable place to sleep when you’re in town, which is what I was looking for. Cons - Dirty outside. The whole place could use a power wash and a paint job. The room was clean, the towels were soft and the bed was better than sleeping in the car. Clock in the room? No. Everything bolted down? Yes. Did the t.v. work? Yes, for the most part. Difficult to change channels, but enough tv to have a distraction. Stay here, sleep here. That’s all. I can’t recommend the lobby coffee. I didn’t trust the wifi enough to try it. Would I stay here again if I had to? Sure. Again, better than sleeping in the car. Marginally, but sure. Travel safe everyone!
