It was just ok

We found the Trailborn a little rough around the edges, without any comfortable place to sit in our room. We couldn't change the temperature. I'm sure a phone call to the desk would have resolved it, but we wanted to get to bed. Too cold for a shower, so after a good nights sleep we headed out early.

Hotel was great for our stay in Estes Park. Location was perfect. We walked to eat and shop and very close to the National Park entrances.

My stay was extremely disappointing. I found the room to be in an unacceptable condition. It was dirty and, even more disturbing, infested with bugs. This was not only disgusting but also completely unacceptable for any hotel. I went to the front desk at 7am to let them know that the weather stripping was completely off on our door resulting in many bugs in our room. I requested that to be fixed and for the room to be thoroughly cleaned. There were multiple spiderwebs and spiders, along with other bugs throughout the room. I woke up to spiders crawling on the bed which is completely unacceptable. There were spider webs beside the nightstand, behind the bed, behind the chair with spiders and other bugs. The room clearly hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. When I came back 9 hours later and expecting the room to be cleaned, it wasn’t. Then a guy entered the room to take out the garbage (again not clean the room). I explained the situation and requested to speak to a manager that day, I provided my phone number and requested she stop by the room to discuss the situation, she never did. I called the hotel 3 times and left my contact information to speak to the manager and she never called me back and never stopped by my room. I stopped by the front desk and left my phone number. The man working assured me that the manager would call me back to address the situation. She never did. Further, he said he could provide a $50 discount and that the manager would call me to discuss further.

Cool and unique vibe in a great area. Didn't get a chance to check out the smores/firepit, or live music but sounded fun! There were several issues with things not working or service/room touches lacking, so those extra efforts could improve the experience.

The room was lovely, easy walk to town centre. The bed was comfy. Only small complaint was that the sound proofing between rooms is quite poor so if you’re susceptible to noise perhaps ask for a top floor room.
