Overall nice hotel with good views. Just be aware that there is a MANDATORY daily resort fee of $62 per night that is charged at checkout. Therefore, whatever is your rate, be aware that you will have to pay an extra $62 per night. In my case, I had 2 rooms for 3 night and had a bill for $372 for resort fee PLUS almost $200 for parking for 1 car for 3 nights. I hope hotels stop the scam of resort fees.

Beautifully decorated room and patio. It was simply top-notched for creature comfort - fully-established mini-bar and treats. The shower was incredible - hardware is modern. Robes and slippers were provided. The fire pit is a nice touch to the bottom floor rooms.

Rooms were so thin you can hear everything. EVERYTHING. Might want to think about bringing kids because they will ask questions about what the noise coming from next door is. Other than that, staff is great. Vaga’s food was great.

One of a kind experience! Everything was top notch. The experience was relaxing and fun. Enjoyed free surf boards, E-Bikes to explore Encinitas and Yoga overlooking the ocean. Even had the opportunity to meet one of the owners, Jerry! He was incredibly kind and generous with his time. Thank you Jerry and team for a memorable weekend. We will be back soon!

I have been here 4 times. The first time was when they were just opening and I had good experience with the room and service. Since then things have fallen apart. Service hour and items are more and more limited while room rate doubled from 400 to 800 a night. This time, I called at 9:40pm to place in room dinning order and I wanted a pot of decaf coffee. The staff told me they dumped their coffee already and would not offer me a new pot. That’s not what I expected. If the advertised closing time is 10pm I would expect menu items be available at 9:59pm. The room came with a mini bar serving red wine and champagne but provided no proper glasses for them. We had to use water glass for our beverages. Lastly the salads we ordered in room gave both my wife and I funny stomach, not straight up food poisoning but uncomfortable feeling. The property seems to be short staffed which could explain all the above problems but they have been charging market rate for 4-5 star hotel in this region with considerable less service, so I don’t buy the notion of macroeconomic impact.

Not too family-friendly but a beautiful resort!

We certainly enjoyed our stay. We brought our 2 children with us and had a great time but this is probably not the most family-friendly place. Extremely nice. Would be happy to stay again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
