Prior Engagement: Pet Friendly Beach Cottage at Emerald Isle on The Point

This classic beach cottage is located just one block from the beach and Bogue Inlet. Being so close (3min walk) allows for a convenient stroll to splash and tan ocean side or catch world class red drum while fishing the Bogue Inlet!

From the moment you arrive at this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home it immediately evokes memories of the charming original beach cottages of Emerald Isle. The open floor plan kitchen/dining/living area is where most time is spent when not on the beach and it allows for a great place to gather and entertain friends and family. With two decks and plenty of covered space underneath you can easily move things outside, especially when the "Party Lights" are on downstairs! Dogs under 50 pounds are welcome guests with a pet fee. Bed linens and bath towels are included for up to 10 people so all you need to bring are your beach towels!

The Primary Suite has a queen size bed and its own private bathroom with shower. The Bunk Room has a pair of twin over full bunks which make this room a cozy and fun kids' space. The Queen Room has a queen size bed with lots of warm natural lighting. The hall bath has a full size tub but most folks prefer to use the outdoor shower after a long day of fun and sun! Books, games, TVs with cable, Roku, and a DVD player mean that even rainy days at the beach can be entertaining! Washer and dryer are included as is a charcoal grill so you can have the amenities of home while on vacation.

The Point is the area at the end of Coast Guard Rd. known for its quiet neighborhood feel. Since the beach faces south, there is plenty of sun all day and you can watch the sunset over the water at Bogue Inlet in the evening!

In addition to your beach chair, bring your bikes and ride the elaborate Emerald Isle bike path all over the island to find fun shops and restaurants. We love all of our beach buds and look forward meeting you!

House was perfect, and it was just a 3 minute walk to the beach! Nice fenced backyard for our fur baby, plus quiet and private. House was almost at the point and the beaches there were flat and beautiful.

We had a great stay at Prior Engagement! The house was clean and cozy and had everything we needed inside and outside. There are several grocery stores only a quick drive away and 2 different beach access points within a 3‐5 minute walk from the house. Check in/out instructions were simple and clear, and the host was very informative and communicative. Would definitely love to stay here again in the future!

This was the perfect spot for our family Everything you can think of for the beach was already here from transport buggies to beach toys and chairs to fully stocked ready to cook and eat kitchen Very comfortable beds with linemen’s and pillows. I really can’t say enough good things about it The beach is literally just around the corner and easily accessible to one of the best beaches on the planet ast coast There’s not near as many people here and it’s mostly families and a a very relaxed vibe We will definitely stay here again The owners are very responsive to any messages and very accommodating and friendly I highly recommend Prior Engagement as a destination at Emerald Isle God Blesd

We absolutely loved staying at Prior Engagement. The location of the house was perfect for us. The walk to the beach access was a reasonable distance. We loved the decks and the under the house sitting area. The hpuse was very nice and accommodating to our size family. We enjoyed being able to bring our dog to the beach for the first time and the fenced in back yard. I wanted to stay in a house near the point for the seclusion and the beach not being crowded on that end. I will say the walk from the beach access to the actual beach was a haul. It was long and up and down hills but that has nothing to do with the rental property. We will definitely stay at Prior Engaement again!!! Thank you so much Matt & Hilary for sharing your beautiful home with us!!!

A gem at The Point - block from the beach

We loved our stay. The house is wonderfully cozy with a well stocked kitchen for family meals. The dogs appreciated the fenced-in yard. The property was well situated in a quiet neighborhood only a block from beach access. The Point is our favorite ocean getaway. Thanks for a great week!

Great rental for family and dog

We had a very nice trip to Emerald Isle. Property is well maintained and great for our family of 4 and two friends. Location great at end of the island - very quiet. Perfect for our dog as well. Would highly recommend!

Easter Beach Weekend

If you are looking for a great family getaway Prior Engagement is great and well stocked! Just grab your beach towels and go plenty of toys for the kids to play with as well. Just a short walk to the beach with the convenient cart, bikes and umbrella too!! We will be back

Great property and great management

We enjoyed our stay and would rent this property again. The fenced yard was definitely an asset for our dog, although I would suggest putting mesh or netting around the fence because the pickets are far enough apart that small dogs can squeeze through and some pickets were loose. We woke up the first morning to NO HEAT. The furnace stopped working . Matt had repair crew out right away to fix it . Thank you.The house was lacking basics like soap, dish soap, trash bags, toilet paper( we left a case for your future guests) and the internet / WiFi never worked despite multiple attempts by competent people . Overall we managed but we won't return .

overall the rooms were clean as well as the living areas. The application process went very well and we received timely communications with the host. Our little dashund had a nice area in the back that on occasion was shared by at one time 5 deer, lol. I think that had he wanted to he could have gone thru the vertical slats but we didn't really worry about it. The kitchen utensils that we used were of good condition and there was a lot of different items.

The cottage was cozy with nice decor. It was very clean except for the patio floor beneath the house where we enjoyed our time with the grandchildren. Since there was no broom the owner was quick to respond & ordered one from Amazon. It is a nice & useful area so having the floor clean is a must. The location to the beach & to The Pointe is a short walk. The beach was very clean, not crowded & water was great Very glad we were close to The Point for evening walks & beautiful sunsets. All made for a memorable family vacation!
