Racó dels Tarongers means "corner of the orange trees" – and that's exactly what it is: a quiet, carefully restored holiday home in a small gated community in Els Poblets, five minutes from the sea.
The house has character. Original wooden beam ceilings, a fully equipped farmhouse kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, glass-fronted cabinets, Valencian patchwork tiles and marble-effect worktops.
In the living room: a working fireplace, air conditioning, French doors – and beyond them, a patio with terracotta tiles.
The bathroom upstairs is the quiet centrepiece of the renovation: handmade jade-green tiles, a floor-level rain shower with brass fittings, a vanity unit with a black marble-effect top and a ribbed wood cabinet – with WC.
Downstairs, a separate WC with washbasin and washing machine – convenient for longer stays and for guests in the ground floor bedroom.
Three bedrooms: upstairs, the master with a double bed, air conditioning and a large driftwood fish sculpture above the bed; a second with two single beds – and on the ground floor, a third, smaller bedroom.
Outside: a private patio with a large dining table under the awning – palm trees, southern light, silence.
From the first-floor balcony, the view opens across the garden directly to the Cim de Ségaria: 508 metres of bare rock rising sharply against a blue sky.
The pool – large, organically shaped, with a well-kept lawn – is shared with the few other houses in the community.
