It’s all about expectations

This hotel was the closest to a 4 day event I was attending. So I booked it without much hesitation. Later on I went back on the booking platform to peruse reviews and was alarmed to read about bedbugs, poor upkeep, towels problems and such. I’m please to say my room didn’t have bedbugs. But it also didn’t have bath towels and it took a good couple of days to get them despite bringing it up.Housekeeping only came once in 4 days but that frankly didn’t bother me. The keycard worked every day except for the last night. I brought lots of snacks to avoid using their restaurant for breakfast but it looks like at least one morning it was closed due to lack of staff. Bring an eye mask. The curtains are purely decorative and cannot be closed. There are no window shades so unless you’re an early morning person you really need the eye mask. The AC works well although it’s rather loud. Between that and the fridge, you’re better off using earplugs. All in all- if it’s a good deal or really close to where you need to be, it’s a solid option.

Try not to stay here! We only had one bath towel in our room, and next afternoon, after waiting for front desk person to come out, were told there were no more available as they were all in the wash! We finally took some from the pool area (although that was not suggested.They don’t give out extra blankets either. One of our keys never worked despite being swiped again. The room smelled like wet dog the whole time, but we were too tired when we arrived to switch. Shower drain was very bad, and faucet leaked a lot when turned on all the way. Only the handy man was responsive and friendly, but wasn’t able to help with towels.

Checked in?

The staff had trouble checking me in and then when i wanted to check out a day earlier than expected they said i was listed as a no show. Blamed it on their system and not check me out or give me a bill. I have tried calling them to make sure i have the correct billing for 2 nights and not three. No one ever returns my calls and it is extremely frustrating. I don't want to pay for 3 days. Please help.

It was just barely adequate. The lock on the door was loose and felt insecure. 3 days and no housekeeping service. Had to request towels & coffee at the counter. Even after ringing provided buzzer, no staff acknowledgment at 9 PM Sunday. No restaurant on Sundays. I do not recommend for a single female traveler. Hotel and parking area had an unsafe vibe. Nothing happened, but felt like it could. On the plus side: comfortable bed, good room size, room felt clean. Coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator.

Decided to stay here for a night to check out Elmira college in the morning. We got there at 4 (an hr after check in) and was told there weren’t any clean rooms yet, or housekeeping didn’t “input” the clean rooms yet and we had to wait. Now I will say the gentleman at the desk was very friendly. He walked away to talk to the manager and when asked how long it would take we were told he didn’t know. He asked her and she didn’t either. We didn’t wait long but she walked past us and didn’t apologize or say a word to us, just kept talking loud and laughing obnoxiously at someone in the hallway. We got to our room and one key wouldn’t work, luckily one did. We opened the door to the smell of a musty dusty basement. It was soooo bad. The cabinet the refrigerator is in was dusty so never cleaned, there were spider webs on the bathroom light fixture and the carpet was disgusting. We wouldn’t walk barefoot in the room. This was by far the worst place I’ve ever spent a night. If you’re thinking about booking a night, DONT!

Great place to get mugged!

Upon arrival, staff sitting out front taking smoke breaks. Front desk couldn’t figure out how to check me in. Hotel itself is in the ghetto, and I didn’t feel safe at all. Old, rundown hotel, in gangland. Great place to stay if you want to get mugged, and some bed bugs. I slept in my car that night.

Very mediocre

Bathroom was clean. Room was old and carpet was dirty. Ice machine did not work. Coffee in morning was lukewarm so I did not drink it. Room was quiet is the most positive I can say. Go a few miles up and stay in Horseheads.

It worked.

Pit stop between locations of where we are going. We were happy we made it through the night. Mold in bathroom all along wallpaper. Smell of stagnant smoke throughout the place. We lived.
