What a contrast to my last hotel (Balmoral Lodge, Southport ). St Michael's was everything I want from a B&B and more. Beautiful vintage furniture, period features, immaculately clean, lovely owner, great atmosphere. Loved it and the presence of a coffee machine, a fridge and a balcony (looking over the garden) made this a great experience. . I was slightly worried about possible noise from the main road, but, even sitting on the balcony, it was surprisingly quiet. My only issue was the very enthusiastic dawn chorus, lol, but there are far worse ways to be woken up. I would love to stay again.
