"Open the door, and Nacpan is right there. No searching, just there. My girlfriend said this place made her forget why people take photos, because every angle is already good enough and pulling out a camera felt like an interruption. We had our own little bungalow. The room is compact and you take it all in immediately. Outside the door there’s a small terrace, plants on both sides giving some privacy, and we sat there for a long time doing absolutely nothing. One practical thing: there’s no pool in the villa area, you have to walk over to the glamping section. But Nacpan Beach is right at the door, and every time I thought about going to the pool I ended up in the sea instead."

"This was our first time in Asia, first time in the Philippines. Everyone said Palawan was beautiful, so we planned around it, and almost didn’t include Nacpan at all. We nearly just stayed in town the whole time. Really glad we didn’t. Nacpan doesn’t have a lot going on in terms of restaurants and nightlife, but the resort itself has a pool, a gym, a massage area, kayaks and SUPs to borrow, and there were other vendors nearby renting sandboards. We could have stayed busy all day. But honestly, lying on a sun lounger watching the sunset was enough. We stayed overnight instead of rushing out, and because of that we got the full sky of stars, the bonfire, and breakfast with the sea right in front of us the next morning. All of that would have been missed on a day trip. The front desk staff found out it was our first time in the Philippines during check-in and shared a bunch of local tips with us, and even taught us a few words in the local language. That small thing left a really good impression of the country on us.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​"

Direkt framför villan är Nacpan, man kan gå ut barfota på sanden. Den är fin och mjuk, men mitt på dagen är den riktigt het, och man får hålla koll på grenar och annat som kan dyka upp. Bokningssajten beskrev det som beachfront villa, men rummet vänder inte direkt mot havet. Det är ett sidofönster i det första rummet som har havsutsikt, och det är lite avstånd till stranden. Inte en besvikelse när man väl är där, men bra att ha rätt förväntningar. Det tar ett femtiotal steg att komma ner till vattnet. Det finns en låg mur med vakt, vilket känns tryggt. Vi bodde närmast lobbyn, så man hör lite mer från omgivningen. Det löste sig genom att vi tillbringade mer tid utomhus ändå. En dag bokade vi island hopping genom hotellet, de förklarade allt tydligt och erbjöd även transfer från stan.

La villa è grande e ha anche la televisione, ma con una spiaggia così e la piscina a disposizione, i bambini ci hanno passato tutta la giornata senza annoiarsi un secondo. A ogni pasto, mia figlia non vedeva l’ora di finire per tornare in acqua. Avere la stanza così vicina al mare è stato davvero comodo, e fuori c’è una doccia per sciacquarsi i piedi prima di rientrare, quindi la camera è rimasta abbastanza pulita. Un po’ di sabbia comunque arriva sempre, ma per questo ci sono le pulizie. La pizza del Sunmai è piaciuta a tutti. La sera ne abbiamo ordinata un’altra da portare in camera come spuntino notturno.
