The room was well appointed and clean. My room however was across the road in another building which meant I had to cross in the pouring rain to get to my room or back to the main hotel building to use any amenities or reception. Additionally, there was a construction site directly outside my window which was both noisy and detracted from privacy.
the location off the hotel is excellent and the hotel staff very kind and helpful we had a very relaxing stay

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
The reception staff was not helpful at all and she made us wait 2 hours for the room until 3pm and then we only got the rooms 3:35
We were three adults each in a room and she asked me twice why did you book three seperate rooms and she was shocked. Something wired and unprofessional. She also delayed us intentionally and i have complained
Amazing view, terrace was well-kept and clean. The lighting modes (especially the mood lighting setting) was superb. The bathroom was clean and had a luxurious and modern look to it. The automated curtains and complimentary glass bottles of water were a fantastic touch to the experience. The rooftop bar and other lounges were posh and had a good vibe. The location was near to the train station and the downtown area, not too far from the various tourist attractions.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
The hotel room and staff were excellent — everyone was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, breakfast for my husband was disappointing. He ordered scrambled eggs on sourdough toast, but it first arrived on bread that hadn’t been toasted. The waitress was lovely and took it back, but when it returned the toast was burned and there was no butter. It felt like the chef was annoyed at the feedback, which isn’t what you expect, especially with breakfast costing £30.
On checking into the property for a two night stay our booking hadnt been combined despite emailing earlier in the week and also advising that the two bookings should be beside each other as we were celebrating a special birthday and attending the rugby the following day. we also requested to be in the main building but instead we were being put over to the smaller annex apartment suites. However we did eventually come to some resolution but this was after a ninety minute wait in reception and having to put our point across very heavily. We felt that due to the hotel being very busy for the rugby our booking had been overlooked and downgraded and they also advised that as we were booking via expedia this would be the case. The breakfast was very poor the following morning, and the staff not very attentive at all, we had to wait around twenty minutes each time we asked for a coffee, the water was hot instead of cold for our chilled drinks and the staff couldnt have cared less, i also asked for some ketchup at the time of receiving part of my breakfast and received it fifteen minutes later once finished. At this point in time we dont feel we would stay there again and we have stayed in the W in Dubai three times and never had this experience.

I recently stayed at the W Edinburgh arriving after an overnight train trip on the Caledonian Sleeper. The W is a stylish new hotel that mixes a sleek blend of modern luxury and stylish Scottish flair.
Perfectly placed in the St James Quarter, it’s ideal for exploring the city, steps away from top restaurants, shops, and just a short walk from Princes Street and the Old Town. You get both the buzz of the city and the calm of a luxury escape.
Our room was beautiful with a large window, plush bedding, and thoughtful touches. The bathroom was a highlight, with a rainfall shower and luxurious amenities.
Every member of staff struck that perfect balance of being relaxed yet professional. Service was genuinely outstanding. We would highly recommend the W to travellers to Edinburgh!
Lovely stay at the W Hotel. Disappointed at breakfast when I ordered tea and received a teabag in a cup if water. I would expect an hotel of this standing to have teapots
