As a traveler coming from the US, my favorite part of this hotel was the ability to add early check in starting at 12pm for GBP 15. This added flexbility was very needed after the long overnight travel. I traveled solo and found the room to be small but perfect size just for me. The room was clean and modern. I thought it was good value. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was okay, I wish there had been more variety. The hotel was in a good location, 5 min walk from a tram stop and within a 15 minute walk of Old Town. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to explore Edinburgh.

good budget hotel. clean. comfortable bed. breakfast was good. no tea making facilities though in room - and this could be a deal breaker for some. room is very small but functional - for those who are not planning on spending much time in the room as was in my case - it did not matter too much.

Our stay at this hotel was very nice. The staff were lovely and always greeted us with a smile. Breakfast was OK a bit more choice would be good. Also with a 3 night stay, it would’ve been nice for a quick room service specially for the bathroom area. My son loved all the mod cons in the room (mood lighting).

The hotel is clean, well maintained, and comfortable. But the big thing that stood out were the staff. Always very friendly and nice to talk to, and super helpful with everything you might need. The hotel is in a good location without being too busy around. Will definitely be coming back.

The location was excellent with lots of nice restaurants nearby and convenient to walk into the Old Town. The bed was comfy and the staff were friendly and courteous. However it was an absolute pain to have to travel to reception every time we needed hot water (quite frequently in Edinburgh winter). I doubt this is cutting waste as I ran through far more disposable cups and trays than simply refilling a ceramic cup. Due to being upstairs this was also a safety risk as a large group came into the lift while I was holding a boiling cup of water, one of them had two large duffel bags and pushed everyone back which almost led to me spilling boiling water everywhere. Surely a water station on each floor would be more preferable/cost effective than the lift constantly running and resulting disposable waste. Another annoying add on to having to leave the room for water, is that the light/heat settings of the room reset everytime you leave the room, meaning the second person in the room is cut off from lighting when you need to do this. While it was interesting to see a Hotel try something different from the old method of leaving a keycard in the slot for lighting, this issue doesn't occur under that system. Overall a comfy stay in a nice location, but someone in Management/planning should try staying there a few days and see how inconvenient some of the planning/systems are and make things easier for the guests.
