We loved our stay here at the Mount Royal. It’s at a very centralized location, with great views of the Scott Monument and Edinburgh Castle. Our room was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Will be staying here again on our next trip to Edinburgh

Located in the city centre, the hotel is conveniently placed, though the room felt a little dated. It was fine for a short stay where my main purpose was simply to sleep. Reception is on the first floor, but anyone can access the room floors directly from the ground level, which didn’t feel very secure. My room (425) faced a construction site, and noise started as early as 06:00, which was quite disruptive. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, but overall hotel management didn’t seem up to standard, to be honest.

The room was spacious enough . There was an armchair and a place to leave my big suitcase open.The bed was very comfortable . The double glazing is good and really the curtains are thick enough not to let any light . There was a kettle which was very convenient .and the lighting was good ..The staff at the reception and the cleaning staff were friendly and efficient.The airport tram is 5mn away and the station7 mn. The location is perfect.

Im so glad I chose this hotel. I had a view of the castle and the Scott Monument from my window. The staff was very friendly and I felt very safe as a solo traveler. Definitely recommend and would stay here again. Cheers!

This hotel and staff are excellent. Staff are friendly but professional. Room had amazing view of Scott's monument. We were upgraded because it was our 40th wedding anniversary, a lovely gesture and a fabulous stay. We're returning next year for the Christmas market.

The friendliest and most professional staff. Every single person in that hotel was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great. Nice bar. Rooms were clean and nice. I just wish that they had a mini fridge in the room. Other than that everything was great.
