This was a two part stay because we liked the hotel and location so much we canceled a reservation and booked another room here. I visited a lot of hotels in Edinburgh and stayed at one other. The Intercontinental is an excellent choice if staying in one hotel in Edinburgh. Recommend a higher floor (6 or 7) in the newer part because you will get some sort of view over the city, but it's not essential.

We loved our stay at the Intercontinental. The staff could not be nicer and more helpful. The location is central to everything and quiet. The rooms are clean and spacious, but the best part was the breakfast buffet. We would definitely stay here again.

From the greeting at the entrance to the staff at reception everyone was friendly and proved a pleasant experience of being greeted with a smile. The hotel room was clean and well appointed with a lovely view. The hotel is located in a perfect location for seeing the city. Restaurants and shopping are on the door steps. I walked to the Royal Botanics and the old town. I will stay at the Intercontinental again in my next visit to Edinburgh.
