Water pressure for the shower was atrocious. The mattress had such a dip in it a million people must have slept on it.
We were only there for one night but loved the location . There were lots of restaurants within walking distance for dinner . The hotel was clean , the staff both cordial and helpful and the breakfast was bountiful . The spaces for the breakfast and the bar were upscale and nicely decorated . I think this hotel would work for families , couples and solo travelers . I would stay here again .
The location was perfect. We were close to many restaurants and the Edinburgh Castle. Everything was so close to walk. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and professional. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stay here!!!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. The hotel itself is old and tired and
Lovely hotel but a pool would be a great addition.
It was a very small room but had a good air conditioning system which was essential during our heatwave visit (Aug 2025). Lovely staff. The breakfast was a bit disappointing, waffles and pancakes, which I was looking forward to, were both hard and not freshly cooked. The hotel is very well situated in town.
The decor was dated, but clean enough. The rooms are really noisy. You’ll hear every time the neighbors close their closet or walk to the bathroom. The “skybar” is advertised but we were told is inaccessible all year because of private events. The area is safe and quiet-ish though. The pillows? Those things are heaven. The bathtub is a bit of a death trap.
