Everything was spot on. The room was spotless, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. The staff were genuinely friendly, professional, and welcoming, which made the stay feel relaxed from the start. Breakfast was really nice and felt like being at home, especially the French press coffee, which was a great touch. The catering staff were super friendly and attentive without overdoing it. The location made getting around Edinburgh easy. A well run place that gets the basics right and then goes a step further. I would happily stay again.

Pros: I came to Edinburgh for the week of Halloween and found this place to be a really lovely hotel in an old Georgian-style building with beautiful architecture. What sold me on it were the gorgeous library and the full breakfast included in the price. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood near Dean Village, about a 20-minute walk into the city center or a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest bus or tram stop. I had an awesome view of the castle from my room's window. Staff were very kind and attentive and offered to carry my bag up for me when the lift was broken, which was a life saver! Cons: Aside from the lift, my only other disappointment was that the full breakfast (ordered from a menu) was only offered for the first few days of my 9-night stay, so I was only able to get the full Scottish breakfast a couple of times before they switched to a regular continental breakfast for the remainder of my time there. Cleaning staff also left someone else's used mug on my nightstand in my room once, which startled me a little since I was staying there alone. I believe they may have been short-staffed due to staff illness, so maybe these things couldn't be helped and are a one-off. Overall, I enjoyed my time staying there!

The room was basically furnished, but tidy and comfortable. The shower was excellent and the water really hot. Overall the property was beautiful as you walked in. The original features of the property stood out and really took you back to another time.

A lovely little place with beautiful period features in a quiet area of Edinburgh, but only a short walk from Charlotte Square and George Street. The room was warm, cosy and spotless, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast had gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available. The staff were welcome and friendly. Would recommend
