The Wild Horse Guesthouse is located on a huge private lot in the heart of Downtown Durango. It is such a comfortable house and really lends itself to families. The house is very child and pet friendly. It is decorated in what we call Modern Cowboy style with high quality furnishings and all the amenities. The best part is you can walk to everything! We are so proud to offer this adorable house for your family to explore Durango from.

Welcome!

This is a real house on a large city lot located close to trails, downtown Durango and grocery store. You can walk to everything you need.

Everything on the property is private unto the guests!

Wild Horse is very near to world class mountain bike trails, the river and river trail, downtown Durango, Durango Natural Foods Market.

There is parking in the driveway. However walking is great because everything is pretty close.

Our family of four ( our dog) stayed a whole month at Hollie's sweet little house, and it was a perfect home-away-from-home. The location is fantastic–in the quiet end of town, and walking distance to so much: downtown shops/dining, Horse Gulch trailhead (fabulous hiking and mountain biking trails–definitely check it out!), the Animas River trail, playgrounds, and coffee (we loved Durango Bike Project-nice bike and coffee shop, right next to a French bakery!!). We walked and biked almost everywhere!The house itself is super cozy and functional, with everything you need. It was extremely clean and well kept (sometimes dog-friendly rentals are a little less clean–not the case here!) The two bedrooms with a queen bed in each worked fine for us because our kids are still small enough to share a bed–but might not work for families with older kids. Our kids appreciated the books, toys and games in their closet! Hollie was a great communicator, and her sweet mom lives right next door and was a wonderful neighbor, making us feel welcome, giving activity books and craft supplies to the kids, and chatting with us every time we were out for walks. Her dog is also very friendly, and made friends with ours through the fence. The big fenced in yard was really nice for the dog and kids to play outside safely unattended.Durango is a beautiful, fun, unpretentious, and accessible. We had a wonderful time and would 100% stay at Hollie's Wild-Horse house again. We're going to miss it!

The property was perfect for our pets. There was a large fenced in yard and neighborhood to walk dogs on leash. The proximity to downtown was walkable. The owner was responsive and welcoming. The home was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely stay at the Wild Horse house with family and our dog! Beds were top notch in comfort, the space was cozy and comfortable. We loved the furnishings and enjoyed spending time on the front patio with all of the privacy of the shrub & tree border. It was a quiet and peaceful space with lots of privacy. We would definitely stay there again! Holly was responsive, pleasant and patient with our questions.

The house was very comfortable for my husband and I and our dachshund. The house kept nice and cool with the window air units. We enjoyed the covered patio and watching the friendly deer munching on the trees in the front yard. You can walk to town in under 15 minutes, and drive in under 5 minutes - a great location in a quiet neighborhood!

Sweet place. As advertised. Fantastic front porch and front yard. Well thought out house. Spacious. If you like nature walks you are feet to blocks from several. Downtown is only 10 - 15 min walk away. ACs work well. I hope to come back!

Our five nights at horse house in Durango

The house was nice; however lacking in some areas. While the front yard is very nice with nice furniture and grass, the backyard, which makes this a “huge “ property is completely unusable- it’s a big rectangular area filled with rock. The two main bedrooms are quite nice, but aside from small hanging closet, there are no dresses and nowhere else to put away clothes (I.e. undergarments, tshirts, etc) we had to stack everything on the tiny little desk. The kitchen is pretty good, but lacking in small knives and any serving bowls or platters. I also tried communicating with the host several times before our visit and she never responded.

Cute home with big fenced in yard

This home felt like a cozy Western cottage in town, but on a quiet street. I loved the decor! We appreciated being able to have our dogs with us - they enjoyed the big back yard. The shady front porch was also enjoyed by all of us.

I loved my stay! The only negative aspect is that I am handicapped and use a walker. Getting down the front steps with my walker (particularly with a suitcase) was very, very difficult Also, I didn’t shower because there were no safety bars

We were in town for a conference at the Doubletree. Only a mile from the house so husband was able to walk over and I enjoyed the house and town. Very comfortable and importantly, yard for doggie.
