No bathroom in "cabin" which is a shed. We didn't even check in
I did not have high expectations, but even my low expectations were not met. There were ants on the bathroom floor. Shower was not clean; there were residue and mildew on the walls of the shower. Even the dark color choice of shower could not hide it. The upper bed had clearly dirty sheets. After that we could not trust the cleanliness of the bed we slept on and we slept in our sleeping bags. We had 2 nights of reservation, but we left after the first. It might be better to drive to Fresno rather than staying here for its convenience.
Checked in late Saturday night, went to the restaurant first. Food in the restaurant was good but service was extremely poor & slow. I had to ask multiple times to ask to order and once ordered had to ask multiple times for a drink I ordered.
Now to the room, this is bare bones room which is very small, incredibly outdated. It has never been remodeled, the walls are paper thin so you hear the outside street cars that pass and if you get bad neighbors next to you. You will hear every word of there conversation.
The bed is rock hard, and the sheets are dark which should be a warning sign. The bathroom towels they provide are black and very small hardly adequate for a shower. The bathroom itself is very small and uncomfortable. There is very few plugs provided in the room so it’s very difficult to find a way to plug your electronics. In this day and age this is pretty brutal even for a no frills hotel.
The experience overall was unacceptable the people next to us were up till midnight talking and smoking just outside our door. They also smoked up a joint so the smell and the sound was overwhelming.
The next morning after getting very poor sleep. Absolutely no electricity or running water. There was nobody on site in the place to find out what to do or any kind of solution,
I filed a claim with hotels.com and credit card company for a refund. We refused to stay another night since this was a two night stay. I texted the owner never received a response.
Great location. Accommodation was compact and Biju just exactly what we booked. The communal facilities worked well. Staff were very accommodating and made us feel welcome. We stayed in one of the small cabins, given the choice again I’d probably book into one of the motel rooms but more just for the experience than anything else as the motel accommodation is steep and rich history. absolutely great offering and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Restaurant staff was terrible but food was so good. The chalet on the creek was fine.
The cafe at Genas Sierra Inn was great; food and choices spectacular, delicious. The staff was very kind, friendly, and professional. The location to the Sequoia National Park is very convenient.
This is a simple, no-nonsense old-style roadside motel, complete with inexpensive, but tasty, dining. A real step back into the past. Simple and fun. Great location just outside Kings Canyon National Park.
This was such a great spot! It was perfect for my two teenagers and myself - convenient, comfortable, safe, and the cost was just right. The food in the restaurant was really good, and staff were super friendly. Highly recommended.
It was very scruffy and very cramped. Poorly equipped (no lamps and other lights not working properly) found rodent pellets beneath the chest of drawers!!
This place is an absolute disaster. Doesn't even deserve the one star we're required to give. It was filthy rundown and outright illegal with the wiring and plumbing. There was mold and spiders in the bathroom. Electrical cords running through walls and plumbing. Running outside the walls as well. Bed was hard, uncomfortable. Worst place I've ever stayed. This is a filthy rundown dump and should be closed down. Do not I repeat do not stay here.
Great home base for seeing Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park! Perfect location, friendly staff, we stayed two nights in the super cute motel and ate at the restaurant - the food and local beers were delicious! I stayed here a few years ago and loved it so much I was sure to book a stay at Gena’s again for this trip. We will be back!

It is a quaint place. Met our needs with no frills. The restaurant supper was awesome. 3 minutes down the road is a great coffee shop with quiche and bagels for breakfast.
