Room was dirty with stained carpets and mould in the curtains

Room was okay but services were not really good. Even in the bathroom until I stayed, which was three nights there was an empty box of shower gel for all the three nights.

Friendly staff - nice touch with a warm welcome cookie. Room was very clean with plump full pillows.
The staff was very courteous, they really stood out, showed standard and real hospitality. the food was good, location was home away from home, room was clean and spotless, i would come back again if i need to visit Edinburgh. Just a suggestion the restaurant can add other varieties for breakfast. Our anniversary holiday was amazing we got a welcome card and snack.Thank you Double tree by Hilton.

The hotel itself was outstanding. The staff also very accommodating and the views and location of the hotel fantastic. However, there was a bit of a issue with overcharging of the rooms which has yet been resolved and a charge placed on room service which has also yet to be resolved once this has been resolved I’m inclined to give a four star review. The room was a little bit concerning for the calibre of this hotel as the bathroom had some very visible cracks over the ceiling and there was mildew around the bath area very noticeable. Hence the lower rating in general too.
It is a 4 star Hilton hotel always busy and that's why I think the staff can treat you as they like .Personally I thought there were rude .If you ask for something they look at you annoyed. What shocked me most was hearing the footsteps from people above our room .The pillow and the duvet felt like they were covered with plastic sheets, ,couldn't sleep all night .The area felt very safe and looking at the bridges across the road it is a stunning view.
Had a great stay, all staff most helpful and courteous, bed very comfortable with good choice of pillows, food excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Only negative point was there was no room care during our two night stay, I presume just an oversight but it certainly didn’t detract from our stay. Looking forward to staying again.
