Lovely, friendly staff throughout our stay. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Paintwork on ceiling in bathroom not in great condition and grout around shower needs replaced. Breakfast ok, poached eggs were hard sadly but selection otherwise ok.

Fantastic hotel. The rooms are spacious, stylish and well designed. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. We loved the local touches like great local cheese with breakfast and copy of the Beano (written in Dundee).

Recent stay

Check in was ok until they wanted to charge £50 to my credit card incase of any damages. Usually they take a copy of your card, not charge it. Breakfast was mediocre as the hot buffett food was either under or overcooked. Room was nice and spacious however they may want to turn the vacuum cleaner on before pushing it around, also the bedding was stained.

The hotel is very unique in it's structure from an old mill. Easy to navigate around the property and outside amenities. The staff, especially at the bar was fantastic and my wife and I were treated well.

The style of the hotel and rooms is modern and pleasant. The rooms were roomy and clean when we checked in. However, no one serviced our room for the three nights we were there other than to bring fresh towels when I asked. Our room was stuffy and the air conditioning system did not work. When I reported this, the hotel sent in a “service team” to “adjust the settings,” but this only seemed to work for 24 hours and we could not make changes. While the food in the attached restaurant is good quality, the place is short staffed and so service is slow (though friendly and apologetic—they are doing their best.). The ground floor bar area is pleasant and well staffed in the evening. There is potential here but the hotel needs leadership to bring up the level of service and the standards of the rooms.

Staff at check in were not very helpful Missed breakfast next day as was misinformed about the time The room was very depressed with windows in the roof Tv remote broken 2 towels for 3 guests had to ask twice for an extra pillow and the cleaners left a bag of rubbish in our room Was not told at booking they would be taking £50 of us whilst staying there which I still have not received backi. Parking dreadful told staff I had a blue badge but didn’t care that I couldn’t walk very far. Would NOT recommend to anyone or stay again
