Outdoor Description
Directly outside the cottage is the farm's beautiful orchard garden which is exclusively for guests at the Victorian Wing cottage. It has a table, four chairs and a barbecue, with fresh herbs to pick as required. This area is for guests' sole use and is surrounded by low stone walls, but is not fully enclosed allowing for sensational views across the valley. Guests are also welcome to use the huge lawn opposite the cottage and garden furniture there if they wish. In addition, guests are most welcome to explore the farm's 35 acres, where you will find horses, sheep and abundant wildlife, including rare Red Deer which come right up to the farm's large pond to drink on summer evenings.
The farmhouse at Stockham Farm dates back to 1750 or earlier, and was originally formed of three cottages. The Victorian Wing is the most recent of the three cottages and is completely self-contained from the other parts of the farmhouse. The long tree-lined drive and parking area are for the sole use of guests in the Victorian Wing cottage. There is another holiday cottage on the farm, The Piggery (sleeps up to 6 guests), which is approx 50 metres away and has its own separate access and outside area.

Just across the garden is stabling for up to 7 horses, should you wish to bring your horse on holiday with you on a DIY basis. Horses are charged at £20 per horse, per night to include use of stable, turnout, straw bedding and haylage. Hacking rom the farm is amazing, with fields and tracks leading you right up onto the moor with no roadwork needed.
There is an endless variety of fabulous walks that can commence right from the door, including a trek to Tarr Steps and back, or a circular walk across the fields with panoramic views and through pretty woodland down into the small market town of Dulverton. All the local pubs welcome dogs and their owners!
Parking
There's ample parking on the drive outside the property for 3 or more cars, right beside the front door.
There is a dedicated metered electrical vehicle charge point at the Victorian Wing cottage. Usage is recorded and the amount spent paid directly to the owners upon departure.

The region
Dulverton is a picturesque market town known as the 'southern gateway to Exmoor National Park', nestled between the rivers Barle and Exe in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
This charming town offers an excellent range of independent shops, a late-opening supermarket, butcher, greengrocer, post office, chemist, and a cash machine. For dining, you'll find award-winning restaurants, traditional pubs, cosy tea rooms, and a fish and chip shop — all making the most of wonderful local produce.
Exmoor House, the headquarters of the Exmoor National Park Authority, is based in Dulverton and features exhibitions and a gallery. The Guildhall Heritage and Arts Centre is well worth a visit, with free admission and fascinating exhibitions on local history including a working model of the original Dulverton railway station.
The stunning Tarr Steps — an ancient clapper bridge and one of the most iconic landmarks on Exmoor — is just five miles to the northwest. With miles of riverside walks along the Barle and Exe, woodland trails, and easy access to the open moor, Dulverton is the perfect base for exploring everything Exmoor has to offer.
