A mess from start to finish. Firstly, FYI, the apartment is located about 6 flights of stairs above the road, just a minor inconvenience, but it got worse from there. The property appeared to be deserted. The patio didn't look at all like the picture on VRBO, with leaves and broken branches on the ground and patio furniture, and a bag of garbage hanging on the wall. I knocked on the door, no answer. Knocked on the window, no answer. Called out "HELLO! ANYBODY HERE?", several times, no answer. No key to be found. I walked back down the 6 flights of stairs to where my car was pulled over to the side of the one-way street with cars whizzing by, too close for comfort since there were no real parking spaces to pull into. I called DIRECT BOOKER, who had booked the apartment through VRBO. I explained the situation to a man who first put me on hold while he "contacted the owner". When he came back on the line he said that he had "elevated the situation" and would call me back within 5 minutes. No one from Direct Booker ever called me back. After waiting 30 minutes while being parked in a dangerous spot alongside the road waiting for a call, we simply left. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
