Great hotel with communication gaps

Except for our check-in snafu this hotel was great. The location allowed us to easily walk to the Dublin attractions. The breakfast was tasty, and allowed us to fuel-up for a full day of walking through Dublin. The problem with check-in was that we arrived very late. I had contacted the hotel about our late arrival and was informed that this would not be an issue. However, upon arrival we found that our room had been sold to another customer for the night, and we were displaced to a different hotel. This is unacceptable in my view since the hotel did know we were arriving.

We had a King Suite, and I have never seen a bed that you could not walk around. You also had to lay in the bed sideways to view the television. This was very inconvenient. The room was very clean, and the hotel was very nice. Very convenient to walk to so many things in Stephen’s Green.

We stayed 4 nights at the Marlin, our experience was very good, its in a nice location where you can walk to many restaurants, and tourist sites. The lobby was a nice place to spend time and has a little coffee shop! The staff were friendly and they gave out water bottles, there is also a water fountain in the gym area. The one thing we didnt love was the shower as it got water all over the floor of the bathroom because of the poor design otherwise it was a wonderful stay, would recommend!

Hotel was in a great location within walking distance to the Temple Bar District, restaurants & shopping center. The only issue we had was the Housekeeping staff seemed to not always clean our room ( taking the trash that was overflowing) & replacing dirty coffee cups/glasses.. Other than that it was a great experience.

We did not like the "cozy" rooms. They didn't have any room to open our luggage, and had to crawl into the beds from the bottom - we have never experienced that in any hotels. We also didn't like the check in process - it seemed rushed and more difficult than normal people at a desk helping us. But it was helpful to have someone at the kiosks walk us through it. The parking discount was difficult to process, an assistant from the hotel had to do it in their office.

The hotel was in a great location- close to everything and on a really nice area. The hotel was clean, just the lights are in energy saving and go over very frequently without movement (like less than a minute), so no way to leave a light on to be able to see at night without leaving the entire room lights on. It was a smaller room, but we had picked it for the location which was excellent. They had shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, and a bar of hand soap, but no lotion (so bring some if you need lotion). The towels were al super soft. There really was no option for early check in- like wouldn’t even check to see if a room was available, so don’t plan on that if hoping for a possible early check in. The staff was courteous and helpful. Would stay again.
