Perfect location and a good hostel. We did book a private room for 2 people which comes with certain amenities such as towels and bathroom toiletries according to the website, but upon arrival we had a different room with nothing provided. Whilst this isn’t an issue, it was just something we needed to go out and purchase. But I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone for a short stay in Dublin.

In order to check in, you need to first push past all the smokers blocking the doorway. Check in is all self serve. They don’t have any dark curtains so the lights from the city make the room bright enough to read in at night. There is a pull down “curtain” but it doesn’t block any of the light. On my second night I was in the shower at about 2000 when someone started pounding on the door. I asked who it was and they said “security” and I let them know I was in the shower. They were gone by the time I came out. At 2300 I was awaken by someone else pounding on the door for several minutes. I had an early flight to catch so I didn’t answer. I wouldn’t stay here again for that reason alone.

Ideally located only a few steps away from Temple Bar district, the facilities and rooms were spotless, comfortable and welcoming, and the staff are beyond friendly and helpful. The only negative comments I have are: 1) There is no common kitchen, and you're not allowed to bring food from outside and eat it in the common areas, but the food options on site are very limited. This is unfortunate since there are many great takeout restaurants nearby, and part of the beauty of traveling is experiencing the local food culture. It's strange that as a hostel, their policies don't embrace or facilitate this. 2) The showers are in the basement, with no windows, no mirrors, and no plug outlets for hair dryers or styling tools! This is very inconvenient for women, unless you have a room with a private bathroom/shower.
