Be careful the parking issues

Location is great for downtown however this parking thing needs to be dealt with. I was told we could park early before the Lions game. And then we were told that the hotel doesn’t own the parking lot. How is that possible ? And we couldn’t park there without paying the extortion pricing.

Overall an excellent experience and value. Denise, the property manager is attentive, kind and professional. The property is very well kept, though a window washing would make it sparkle. The location is outstanding. Easy walk to the stadium/entertainment district. Safe neighborhood and a beautiful, historic property.

Great for an overnight stay for local events. You absolutely cannot beat the location!!!! Parking on site was my only complaint as it is advertised to have free street parking and we had to pay $28.99 to park in the lot as the city of Detroit has changed to free parking only between 8am -2pm, residential permit needed otherwise. Steps should have been taken to inform guests ahead of time. I received plenty of emails from the management through Hotels.com about the stay with the old parking info. Not a nice surprise. Otherwise our stay was great for what we needed! The Inn is a very cool building. The rooms are all decorated differently which is fun. It's older and it's clear that there are steps being taking to perform maintenance, update furnishings and such throughout without losing the vintage/antique vibe. The stairs are very old and creaky so I would definitely recommend sleeping with earplugs. The staff that we interacted with was friendly and helpful. We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast so no opinion of that. We would definitely stay here again if attending another event in the area.

Beautiful historic home-turned-inn. The room was smallish but nice and included an en-suite bathroom. We loved the large walk-in shower with multiple shower heads. The sitting areas and dining room were also beautiful. The best feature, though, was the close distance to Woodward Ave. We had tickets to a concert at the Fox, which was just a 6 minute walk away. My only complaint is the parking situation was different than posted on Expedia. There was no on-street parking, so we had to pay to stay in the inn's lot. The parking fee was higher than the information i recieved before our stay.

The bed sheets were old. They were clean but had stains. The room needed a good dusting and the sitting room furniture needs some cleaning and or re-upholstering. We enjoyed our stay and the bed was comfortable.

The Inn was beautiful inside and out, however; in our room there was a ceiling that is peeling, a tear on the wall above the bed, there was already used and empty beer can and whiskey bottle, dead bugs and dust in the left window as I wanted to open the blinds but once I had seen that, I kept them closed. The large rug needs industrial cleaning, as it was pretty stained.

Definitely a Keeper

What a neat place to stay in downtown Detroit. The inn was close to where we were going (the Masonic Temple for a concert) but also within a few hundred yards of the Fox and downtown sports parks. The old place is beautiful and funky without being too fussy. The bathroom was huge—a room unto itself! Our room was quite cold (third floor) due to AC and as it was about 11:30 pm when we got home from the concert, there was no one to contact. Extra blanket helped. The mattress is about at the end of its life. Coffee and continental breakfast were a good bonus.

Beautiful building

Super cozy and a great location for getting to the sports arenas. walking out the front door and Comerica Park is right there! I will be making this our go to stay when we visit Detroit for sporting events.

Beautiful building but the furniture was horribly dirty, falling apart and in much need of repair. Carpets were dirty. Windows, vents and trim were extremely dusty and dirty.
