"The reason for 5 stars is down to the staff all of whom were kind and helpful, particularly Michael. The room was very clean but has certainly seen better days and the bathroom was very cramped although had a good shower. The hotel is well situated in the centre of Carlisle in the heart of the shopping area. "

"Lovely hotel in an old victorian building in a prime location at the top of the town. It was the old railway station hotel. Hotel has a reasonably priced bar and extensive lounges. It also has lots of free parking with a hotel permit directly outside the hotel.Staff are excellent i woukd highly recommend this hotel"

"Beautiful hotel with great views of the lake. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Hotel provided us with a surprise free drink from the bar. Location is the best with on site car parking. Highly recommended. "
