Clean new hotel. Customer service needs help.
We were in town for the Des Moines IMT marathon and were going to watch our daughter run. First thing when we checked in, there was 1 person running the front desk. I tell him my name and he looks for my reservation. Once he finally finds it he asks for my card for incidentals. I tap my card then after several clicks and minutes, he says he's having problems in systems giving us our keys. In the meantime he is on the phone with some tech support and also has some employee telling him he can't find the truck keys so he's doing several things at the same item as checking us in. Then he tells me that he needs me to tap my card again and I say are you going to charge me twice? He said no we don't charge you for your room until you check out. I said I've already paid for the room several weeks ago. Miraculously then he can get me my keys. He also tells us at checkin that the bar is open until 11. My husband and I go down at 9:30. There are us and 4-5 others down there. At 9:50 he says the bar is closed. WHAT? Breakfast was supposed to be open at 7. We go down a few minutes early and wait. At 7:09 the lady at the front tells us and about 10 other people who are waiting that they are running late but we can go in and grab muffins and fruit. We went in because the race starts at 8 and we needed to get downtown. The man that was stocking stuff starts slamming stuff around as if to show he irritated we are in there. CRAPPY SERVICE ALL AROUND.
