I want to start by saying the staff at the hotel were amazing and really accommodated us within their means. However, I booked this hotel as it was a VIP hotel with Expedia and I thought I would receive a room upgrade, however when I arrived at the hotel. I was told by the staff that they don’t honour the link between Expedia status and the hotel. That was really disappointing on Expedia and the hotels behalf. We were told we could upgrade for $150 AUD a night. Upon arrival to our room we kicked off our shoes and within minutes we both had glass in our feet, the room was not cleaned properly. We saw the manager the next morning and were compensated with a free conditional dinner. A few nights later, about 10pm we were asleep in the room and a strange man entered the room, I stirred as he left. I quickly got up and called reception. Upon investigation it was confirmed another guest entered my room. I was told that the lock on the door was not working property. I asked to change rooms as I was now very nervous, however compensated with a spa voucher and no room change.
The staff at the hotel were great and heard my concerns, however it left a lingering safety concern.
The location is great suited us, the activity staff were awesome and the general amenities were good. Would I stay there again? I am not sure! I would need to be assured they would do better at assuring my safety and honouring the Expedia program and upgrade or both companies being transparent in the offers.
