Don't Stay Here!!

Airport pickup was nice. The hotel room was not. No windows so it felt like a cave. The a/c did not work -- brutal during summer in Delhi. The bathroom was pretty stinky and that smell spilled into the entire room during the night -- even with the bathroom door closed. We asked to see another room, but they didn't have any they could show us. In the morning, the hotel owner/manager was nice enough to drive us to the "official tourist office." This is a common scam in Delhi. Everybody wants to take you to the "official tourist office", but they are all private travel agents. This may not be bad if you are looking for a travel agent. However, I think of a tourist office as a place that will provide you information without trying to make a buck off you. We left the tourist office and got walking directions from the agent. Amazingly, we ran into our hotel's owner/manager a block later. Coincidence? Not likely. The travel agent had sent us right to him. This time he offered to take us to a place where we could get a train schedule. We said "no thanks." Truth is that this is pretty harmless stuff, but I don't like being lied to. We found a much nicer hotel two blocks away. When we returned to Snow White to check out, they now had a better room to show us. A little late for that. Our cave/room did have a circular bed -- pretty cool but still not enough to keep me there. There are tons of excellent hotels in the Paharganj area. Don't settle for this one.

meidet dieses Hotel

Das Hotel soll erst ca 1 Jahr alt sein. Die Laken auf dem Bett sind sicher noch nie gewechselt worden. Das Badezimmer war voller Abfall von den Vorbewohnern. Das Zimmer ist sehr ungepflegt und hatte keine erkennbaren Fenster. Das ist kein Hotel, in dem man sich wohl fühlen kann.
