"My wife and I have stayed here twice while visiting Monte Vista for the annual Crane Festival. Both times, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was very comfortable, so we slept well. Since this hotel has a drive-in movie screen south of the rooms, after sundown visitors can watch a movie from the luxury of their hotel room if they desire. Also, each room has both a room number and an actor's name associated with it. So, for example, we stayed in the "Yul Brynner" room. These touches give the hotel character that you won't find anywhere else. The dining room, where breakfast is served, has a gorgeous view that looks out onto the mountains west of Monte Vista. As the Spanish name of the town indicates, the hotel truly has a "mountain view." I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone."

Lots of amneties which makes it a home away from home. The heaters kept the cabin warm. We loved the big picture window that looked up the mountain and the sun shone warmly into the living room area. The beds were warm comfortable. The sheets were nice sleeping in. You didn't jump into a cold bed. Lots of extra pillows and blankets if needed. We enjoyed cooking homecooked meals.
