Welcome to Little Deer Isle! This property boasts a large, private, rustic style Maine home, with gorgeous ocean views. This home is family friendly, with lots of space inside and out for families and friends to reconnect and experience what the real Maine woods is like, with the bonus of having the coast right out the back door.

Only 10 minutes to Deer Isle and about an hour and 10 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. You and your guests will have a private beach, access to swimming, kayaking, and beach combing. Explore the local area and visit the Discovery Wharf to learn about local fisheries and the Gulf of Maine marine ecosystem. Alternatively, take a hike up Pine Hill and enjoy wonderful views of the Reach, surrounding mainland, and outer islands. Scott's Landing is conveniently located nearby to explore trails and the shorefront. Pack a picnic and watch sailboats pass under the iconic Deer Isle bridge. With a bustling island and mainland at your disposal, you are guaranteed to make memories at the Sailing Views property.

We had a great time away from crowds, noise and the tourist traps.

The property was big enough so each family(12 people) had their own space but could fit into the common areas. Room outside for the kids to run and all enjoyed the private beach. And the lofts allowed the kids some space of their own. Some good local restaurants and small towns to explore but definitely off the beaten path. Bar Harbor and Acadia are about an hour and a quarter away for sight seeing and more shopping choices. We would definitely return to this property the next time we go to Maine.

LDI Summer Stay

We had a great stay in August of 2023, with 12 people, 6 adults and 6 teens. We knew that the home would be rustic but it was clean and ready when we arrived. The property manager was extremely responsive to our emails and questions- the beach and tidal pools were amazing, as was the location. One of the only negatives were the mosquitoes who made the fire pit unusable- which was very disappointing- maybe consider spraying for them as they "attack" the minute you exit your cars in the parking area! This is our favorite area of Maine and we had a great time- Thank you!

Lots of space

This is a great space for a group of lots of people. The weather was wet and foggy when we were there with friends and family in late July, so we made use of all of the indoor spaces. It was great to have separate spaces for teens who wanted to stay up late and sleep in. The kitchen is indeed very well stocked with the one exception of a decent outdoor grill. It is very quiet and beautiful and we enjoyed exploring the private beach and nearby hamlets. It is an hour+ each way to Acadia NP; the driveway was tricky for low clearance cars.

Deer Isle getaway

Deer Isle and the Blue Hill Peninsula always deliver. The house, however, did not for the money. No A/C. Dirty and Missing window screens. Windows and doors that didn’t operate. Minimal tv package… no sports,etc. outdoor furniture sad. Indoor furniture old. Parking distance to front door makes hauling groceries, etc difficult. Not a luxury offering. Very rustic.

Great Maine family retreat.

We used the house for a family vacation with our adult children and their spouses. It was perfect to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring at Acadia or Bar Harbor, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the views and peaceful surrounding. With 4 couples, we could have used one more queen/king bed. However, the kitchen was extremely well stocked. In summary, a beautiful cozy and quiet Maine retreat for a large family.

Family reunion

We enjoyed our stay very much ! We had several families that came together for a family reunion. There was plenty of beds for all ( mostly single beds which was great for families with children) . The house /property was very private and quiet !

Beautiful home in amazing location!!

This house is well maintained and had everything we needed for 3 families to stay comfortably after flying across the country. We really enjoyed our stay! We swam and paddle boarded from the beach, cooked lobster and loved the views and wildlife.

Amazing vacation spot!

This property was perfect for a friends and family vacation! So much room for everyone, easy access to private beach (Perfect swimming spot at high tide!) It had everything we needed. So many windows for great views, woke up to sunshine and the sounds of crashing waves every morning. Beautiful spot!

Superb location

The place and the view are superb. The houses are great. It was nice to be able to go swimming on the beach just below the house. We were on a family gathering between Canadian and Swiss members of our family and everybody enjoyed the place. The only critic is that the dining table in front of the bar and the number of chairs are not sufficient to allocate 12 persons.

Private, peaceful, rocky Maine coastal retreat

We couldn't have asked for a more private get away for our family. We enjoyed the gorgouse views from the pebble beach. Views from the house were obstructed due to tree growth. Kayaking in the clear calm water was so relaxing. We were able to see harbor porpoise, seals, and fish out in front of the house. The house was well equipped to meet our needs. A gas grill would have made cooking outside bit easier. I would definitely come back again with friends and family.

Gorgeous retreat

We loved our stay. The home is beautifully situated has lots of space indoors and out for our big groups. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking family meals, and the kids had a blast playing outside in the yard and on the beach. It was a great location for our group.
