Welcome to LAKIN' IT EASY! This log cabin is one of the very few waterfront vacation rentals in the high country.

MAIN LEVEL has 1 bedroom with QUEEN bed, flat screen TV, FULL pull-out couch, and shared full bath. Fully stocked kitchen with all full-size appliances and an abundance of kitchen gadgets and small appliances, including Cuisinart mixer, Keurig, regular drip coffee maker, toaster and more. Luxury dining room area that overlooks the lake and a living room area with two separate nooks: one for TV watching and one for enjoying the fire. Main level also includes access to walkout full deck overlooking the lake and plenty of seating for you and your guests.

UPPER LEVEL primary room with KING bed and private full bath, shower only - has multiple shower heads, 2 wands, and rain shower heads from above. Flat screen, smart TV in bedroom. There is also a small loft with extra seating and a desk with a monitor and printer.

BASEMENT has full bath with walk-in shower/tub combo that also doubles as a steam shower. 2 sets of bunk beds in lower bedroom - one is full over full, one is twin over full (see pictures). The basement has everything you need for family and friends to enjoy - game room with air hockey, foosball, arcade game machine, and various board games, as well as the movie theater area complete with massive flat screen TV and surround sound to really amp up the experience!

Perfect location for all area events from North Wilkesboro and Merle Fest to Blowing Rock for the always delightful concerts in the park! Appalachian State University is just up the road about 10 miles, along with the all the shopping, restaurants, local artisans, and the sites and sounds of King Street in Boone. Local ski resorts include App Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. Visit Hawks Nest for some ziplining or grab those yummy snacks and sit by the river with a glass of wine from one of our favorite places, Grandfather Vineyards. Local breweries are plentiful. Some of our favorites include AMB, Booneshine, and Molly Chompers. Go gem mining for your next ruby or emerald and then take the family and friends to Tweetsie for some Western wranglin' fun!

Linens are provided at the house for all guests. 4 wheel drive is not necessary for this property. Gravel driveway. Two kayaks available for use at the house. Please put in where the paddle boats are and do not remove from the community. Life jackets are available at the pier. Queen size blow up mattress in basement with full set of linens. This house does not have a hot tub, but has a jetted tub in the basement bathroom. Please note that in pictures!

So lovely! The house itself is beautiful, clean, and laid out well and the community it's in is safe and quiet. The hike along Laurel creek is very easy with many great spots where you can get in the creek and wade around. We would happily return.

The home was beautiful. Rockers on the porch were a true highlight. Be prepared to be disconnected as the internet and satellite were extremely limited. It is very far from everything. Had a great stay. Would not recommend for younger children.

The property manager was readily available for any questions or concerns. We would stay her again.

Property Needs Updating

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a nice stay at Lakin it Easy. The cabin needs some updating and improvements. First is the front door locking mechanism. The door will not unlock after putting in the code. After 3 tries it resets and then the display will not activate. Even with new batteries it still would not work and we had to leave the back door unlocked when we went anywhere. Second the outdoor deck furniture is rusted and strewn around the deck. Not safe to sit on. The wooden chairs need painting and the seat cushions need replacing. One of the orange cushions is in the woods probably blown off the deck by the wind. Third the mini split heating/AC unit at the top of the stairs leaks water onto the floor. It cannot be used. Lastly a breaker tripped that controls the receptacles in the master bedroom. It would not reset and needs replacing. Lamps, TV and portable AC would not work due to the breaker.The property manager is receptive to these issues being fixed.

Exceeded Expectations

We have long talked about renting a cabin/mountain house for the week of Thanksgiving as our two families have shared the holiday together for several years now. The 3 levels were absolutely perfect for the kids, us early risers on the main floor and the not so early risers on the third :) The hiking trails were a blast (make sure you have weatherproof hiking boots lol), views were amazing, the game room kept the kids entertained as well as us adults. It was overall a great time! We did read in a review prior to our stay that the tips on the pool sticks were missing so we did come prepared with our own. Thank you for such a great experience and the memories we were able to leave with!

Lovely Place at Lakeside!

Lakeside was beautiful and relaxing. This place had everything for us and everything was easy to access from check-in all the way to check-out. The only few drawbacks I found about Lakeside are: - Both of the pool sticks had not tip - No ping pong balls - No air hockey puck - Top AC unit was leaking We came on a Saturday when it was raining so we didn't have much to do inside. One recommendation I would have to the owner is to have more trash bins outside. We barely had enough room for all the trash and it's kind of inconvenient for us to leave the cabins to drop off trash and come back. Overall, Lakeside is a beautiful place and I would highly recommend this place to family and friends.

Great mountain getaway!

Beautiful cabin on the lake in a lovely mountain community! We had a wonderful time! A couple of disappointments as described below, but overall a great cabin for a remote mountain getaway! 1) The outdoor spaces need work. The outdoor furniture is old and dirty and there were missing or no cushions on the deck furniture, so we couldn’t even sit on the couches and enjoy the outdoor views. The decks need to be blown off and thoroughly cleaned. 2) Some of the “clean” dishes were dirty and the remote to the fireplace needed new batteries, so it didn’t work. 3) Deep Gap is VERY remote, and it took longer to get into Boone/Blowing Rock than we anticipated (40-50 min) but the drive to get into town was beautiful!!

Lake in it Easy Vacation

What a wonderful week of vacation in the North Carolina mountains. The cabin was spotless and very welcoming. Lots of things to do or just rest in the serine home on the lake.
