Named after the amazing night skies in the area, you'll love enjoying a cabin with modern luxuries while entrenched in the vast Black Hills forest with big skies. Located in the heart of the Northern Black Hills recreational corridor and in a subdivision adjacent to the Mickelson trail and Trail #5, you'll be hard pressed to find a better location perfect for your mountain biking, UTV/ATV or snowmobile adventures! Located on all paved roads, it's easy to access all the surrounding attractions. You can be skiing the slopes of Terry Peak in less than 10 minutes, hiking or fishing in Spearfish Canyon in less than 5 minutes, or enjoying a short 15 minute taxi ride into Deadwood to enjoy a local event or all the festivities that frequent the area! Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake and more are also within a 1 hour drive from the cabin. Whether it's a weekend with adventure filled activities, or a peaceful getaway relaxing and enjoy the wildlife and sunsets, Falling Star Lodge will become your new favorite vacation home!

After your daily adventures, coming home to the cabin is sure to be a pleasant experience. The open living area with 2-story ceilings and large windows will set the mood for a relaxing getaway. The main floor living, kitchen, and dining area all link together to create a seamless space for enjoying your friends/family. There's a fireplace in the main living area perfect for kicking your feet up by as well! The kitchen is fitted with a large farmhouse style sink and an island great for gathering around. The living area also leads out to the covered deck, perfectly made to enjoy wildlife viewing or grilling a great meal! The loft has a seating area and there are 2 bedrooms on the upper level. On the lower level, you'll find a perfect living room with sofa, along with a flat-screen TV and wet-bar. It's great for lounging with friends while making up a perfect drink for a cozy night in. There's also a washer/dryer on the lower level along with 2 more bedrooms. The lower level living area also leads out to the covered patio, complete with a hot tub and private backyard. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I would say the home was less than par for the neighborhood. I've stayed in other homes in the neighborhood previously. The home is nice but unlike other VRBOs I've stayed in there were very little standard things for cooking. The beds were not very comfortable and minimal towels that were stained and worn. Also typically there are shower amenities in VRBOs but this one only had in a couple of bathrooms and not much of it. Positive things, they had a nice garage and games that could be played in there. Location is nice as the Powder House pass neighborhood is right off the main highway. It is a beautiful area. The house sleeps a lot of people for its size. For perspective we had 8 adults staying and had plenty of room.

The master suite smelled like an unclean person slept there and we had to hang the blankets outside and air out the room. The towels were very used and bleached stained not what we are accustomed to. I know that you have rules for check in time but we traveled a great distance with a 91 year old and she needed a bathroom break and we asked for a 20 minute early check in and you didn’t respond we checked out 2 hrs early. We’ve had a lot of good experiences with VRBO houses we won’t return to this house

The house itself is very nice. Not quite as large as the photos make it look. Suited our number of guests well enough. We were very disappointed by the disgusting towel, and wash cloths that were marked with bleach stains and scratchy. The bed pillows are ALL flat as pancakes and appear old. We highly recommend bring all your own pillows and towels. Towels look like those that would be used on a car. Very disappointing. For what we paid, decent pillows and towels should be a no brainer.

My husband and I along with two other couples stay at this brand new lodge for a long weekend of ITV trailing. This lodge is tastefully decorated, brand new, and stocked with all the amenities you need! We were surprised to see coffee, laundry soap, and even foil and sandwich bags! Beautiful setting and location too! We highly recommend this lodge!

Winter Wonderland at Powder House Pass

This house was the perfect place in Powder House Pass for our family of five adults to hang out between skiing and snowmobiling. We rented snowmobiles from Mad Mountain which worked great. The trails were in excellent condition. The house appointments and everything else was awesome. We had thought two more adults and three children from our family might be joining us, and if they would have, this house is perfectly set up for that.
