We stayed over New Years Eve and it was amazing here at the hotel and out on the street. The hotel along with the Legends dining room downstairs is top notch. South Dakota people are the best! I can't say that for the parking. The lot is up the hill a block and a half. The hotel shuttle to and from the lot was hit or miss, mostly miss. The hikes were kinda stressful on an old guy with a heart issue and bad knees

In general, we always like staying at The Franklin but this time was not as pleasant as far as the room. I was told you have a no pet policy but a previous guest had brought a cat in. The room smelled of cat urine and as I am highly allergic to cat dander, could tell immediately there had been a cat in there. I wondered why the cleaning service didn't do anything about the obvious odor when they did a prior cleaning?

The staff at this hotel is amazing. The rooms are nicely decorated. Yes parking is about a block away, but just ask the front desk staff if you can get a ride there. The only negative feedback I have is that their elevator smell like mold cheese that was left out in the sun.
