Clean and tidy, if not ageing in decor for the price. Not overly well insulated for noise. Staff are not overly attentive, took a bit of effort just to get some ice for the room from the bar and when I did it was about 6 blocks. The common areas of the hotel are nice with a lodge type of feel and happy hour was generous and busy. Pool and 'spa' definitely need to be upgraded, but given the myriad of options in this area I can see why they haven't bothered.

The venue itself is beautiful, clean, easily accessible, plenty of parking. The staff however ruin the venue. Almost all staff are unfriendly, lazy it honestly felt we were an inconvenience. Bar in venue upstairs is rarely open and the staff have no idea about the alcoholic beverages. Ale and Larger are completely different they are made different and taste nothing alike. Bar staff act like they know everything but don’t know the basics. This particular barman was too busy worry about having shots himself and encouraging another staff member who declined. Staff in the Virgin Kitchen simply ignore you when you are standing there to order. 5 minutes before I had to ask if they were going to take my breakfast order. No mention of concierge options, no mention they have games available for their guests to enjoy., Truthfully the rooms and venue is wonderful but new staff required as they bring the place down. One gentleman in reception Paul was wonderful and friendly and when leaving an older staff member lady smiled and said hello. Wish they had been in more.

Wonderful hotel in a beautiful area. We stayed in an executive suite and it was spacious and lovely. Great corner bath and big TV. The restaurant is downstairs and the dinner was wonderful. We got great wood fired pizza very near by which was great. There is no mini bar or room service. But a big fridge and tea and coffee making provided. Bar and restaurant were pricey but great cocktails. There are wonderful walking trails close by. The pool is big and super warm. We would definitely stay again. Check out is very early at 10.00am, so no time in the morning for pool or breakfast unless you are a very early riser.
