Dartmouth is an idyllic base for an escape to Devon. Enjoy stunning views from the banks of the River Dart as you stroll along the embankment. Wander the streets of independent shops, restaurants and cafés. Indulge in a boat trip on the River Dart, or catch the ferry and hop on the steam train.

Families with adventurous young explorers are sure to love nearby Woodlands, just five miles out from this idyllic property, where all-weather fun is guaranteed. With a mixture of rides, indoor and outdoor play areas, and even a toboggan run, you’re sure of a good day out. Or why not step away from the shore and take a boat ride up to see the sights of the historic Greenway Holt, home of Agatha Christie.

Blackpool Sands is the closest beach, a five-minute drive or a one-hour and half walk away along the South West Coast Path. There are many beaches and walks to explore along this stretch of coastline. To find out our favourites, head to our journal.

Dartmouth is an all year round destination hosting a variety of regional events like the yearly Dart Music Festival (May), the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta (August), and the Dartmouth Food Festival (October).

The open plan living, dining, and kitchen area is filled with natural light thanks to high ceilings and dual-aspect windows. Comfortable leather seating, soft furnishings, and a quirky Dartmouth gurgle jug add warmth and local charm. The fully equipped kitchen includes an induction hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, and washing machine, with a breakfast bar seating four, perfect for casual meals or morning coffee.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, a striking brick feature wall, and ample wardrobe space. The second bedroom offers a practical bunk bed setup, a single on top and a double below, making it ideal for families. Both bedrooms benefit from inset lighting, creating a calm and restful atmosphere. A modern bathroom with fresh, stylish fittings completes the home.

The nearest train station is Totnes, approximately 20 mins away by car.

Parking:
The property has no parking on site; however, you can pull up to unload in front of the main entrance to the property to load and unload. Between 1st October and 30 April there are lots of free and unlimited spaces throughout the town, the majority of those being on 'South Town' and 'Newcomen Road' which are the roads immediately outside the property leading up to the Castle. 'Embankment Road' is also a good option which is the road that runs along the entire river front and a 2-minute walk from the house.

The main central car park located is just a 10 minute walk from the property and can be controlled using the PaybyPhone App or alternatively, the Just Park app can offer local alternatives.

During the main season (May-September) the 'Park and Ride' offers the best solution with regular buses running through the day and drops/collects from the centre of town.

Pets:
We do welcome a well behaved pet but do ask that you respect the furniture and do not leave a dog alone unattended in the house.
