Awesome Family Lake Trip

Long weekend 4th of July trip and we had an awesome time! This house has a really nice view and having some kayaks was a plus! Plenty of seating outside. You will not find better hosts! We would stay here again.

We had the most amazing stay! Marsha was truly the most wonderful host — warm, responsive, and so thoughtful in making sure every detail was perfect for our visit. The home was spotless, beautifully stocked, and felt like our own little lakeside retreat. Lake Martin was absolutely stunning — peaceful mornings, gorgeous sunsets, and endless opportunities for fun on the water. We can’t wait to come back and would recommend Marsha’s place to anyone looking for the perfect Lake Martin getaway!

This is the one of the cleanest properties we have stayed at so far. I spoke with Marsha the host several times. She is very gracious, answered all questions I had and was very helpful with directions getting there to anything we needed. We loved the house and the property. The pier and boat dock were very convenient. Loved this place, will stay again.

Absolutely wonderful property and lake cabin. We had a large group (11-12) and had no problem with sleeping arrangements. Everything was very comfortable and the whole site is just relaxing. Marsha and Jerry are the best! So helpful and nice, what a great place to unwind!

The Perfect Lakehouse!

Great location with big open water views, good dock for hanging out or swimming. Location is close to Smith Mtn, beaches and Lakeside Marina fairly close by. Owners are super friendly and easily contacted, the house was very clean and had everything you would need for a family vacation. Also, lots of parking for truck/trailer and few more cars. Overall an AMAZING place! Thank you Marsha and Jerry for sharing it with us :-)

October 2022 trip

We loved this house and property. The kitchen has every gadget you would ever need for cooking. It is very spacious with plenty of tables and chairs inside and out, has beautiful views with the sunset off the front. We did not want to leave. The owners are extremely nice.

House was plenty of space for our family of 5. We could have invited another family with 2 kids comfortably. Beautiful view of the lake from master bedroom. Graduation celebration weekend

The outdoor feature of this property is by far 5 stars - you are right on the water with plenty of outdoor seating and a fire pit which we used two nights of our stay. The indoors is delightfully eclectic, retro and fun with plenty of room to eat, lounge and sleep. The only caution would be if you are trying to cook meals, the appliances are quite dated and you will need to take that into account. Otherwise, it was fantastic - great location!

Great Lake front property!!

This was a great property with great amenities! The covered pier was a lifesaver (with 2 infants) while the kids swam there was a place to sit out of the sun!!(the pier had ceiling fans also—yay!!) The kayaks were an added treat!! The yard was fairly flat and there were no stairs you had climb down to get to the pier. It was a really beautiful setting!! The inside was adequate. It was clean. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked! The master bedroom was very nice.

Room to spread out

First of all Marsha and Jerry Hanks are just so friendly and accommodating! The rental property has it all! House is exactly as seen via internet. All the comforts of home including big screen tvs and fully equipped kitchen. The property has been thoughtfully landscaped with several areas to gather or to find a quiet spot to read. Could go on and on with nothing but good things to say about this stay! Best compliment I can give is that everyone voted to return next year!

Beautiful lakefront access

We greatly enjoyed our family get together. The outside view and lake access were wonderful and the fish were definitely biting! Our boys fished until midnight and caught 30 or so fish! Kayaks were included and were great! We also enjoyed building a bonfire in the fire pit with the abundant wood provided. We took our 2 dogs and they had so much fun being allowed off leash to run and explore the large yard and woods surrounded on 3 sides by water. Great rental!! Thank you Marsha and Jerry for sharing your awesome property with us!

Lake Life

This was an excellent property and Marsha and Jerry, the hosts, were extremely attentive to our needs. the house is very well supplied with all your indoor and outdoor activities. Great boat ramp, great two (2) docks, great patio, grill, screened in porch, and easy access from the house to the water. My only complaint, and very minor, is that there is a 100 extra fee per pet. It is listed on the VRBO site and I thought that VRBO would collect it. They don't, so be prepared to pay if you bring a pet. Other than that, everything was excellent. Thank you Marsha and Jerry.
