I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kantu hotel that truly exceeded my expectations. What struck me most was its unbeatable location – a short, pleasant walk to a delightful array of restaurants and unique small shops. Being so close to the historic square was an added bonus, allowing for easy exploration of the area's rich history and culture. Beyond the prime location, the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, always ready with a smile and eager to assist with any questions or requests. Their attentiveness truly made me feel welcome and valued. Moreover, the rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment after a long day of sightseeing. I stayed for 4 nights, and tried to pay with my credit cards every single day and they never worked. Keep in mind they worked everywhere else in Peru, even the tiny store across the street. The staff never fixed the problem and asked me to take out USD from a bank in chunks, because there is a $140usd daily maximum. Plus the exchange rate is brutal at the atm, so I ended up paying about 15% more. The hotel didn’t seem to care at all. It became a very annoying, stressful thing during my stay. On top of that, I visited the hotels my friends were staying at in Cusco and they were much nicer for the same price. Definitely stay somewhere else :(

Stayed here twice - before and after our trip to Machu Picchu. Very convenient location - about a 15 min taxi ride from the airport and no need to climb any steps to get there (worth noting as we saw a lot of stays that required a bit of climbing!) Right across from Mercado San Pedro and Plaza de Armas is only a 10 min walk away. The staff were very kind, attentive and friendly. The rooms were clean and had a good amount of space and storage, the beds were comfortable, and the water in the showers were nice and hot without any wait. The breakfast had plenty of options and varied each day. Coffee and tea (including coca tea) were available at all times, which was a nice touch.
