*** BOOK NOW FOR SCHOOL HOLIDAYS OR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS ***
Taralga`s premium, stylish, pet-friendly and contemporary accommodation destination that offers overnight accommodation for up to 10 guests across two houses (The Lodge and The Barn), each house with an outdoor hot tub with spectacular views and a fully equipped Games Room.
Looking for a holiday destination that`s more than just a short-term let?
Look no further than Abercrombie Ridge, the premium and sought-after holiday spot in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, just 3 hours from Sydney or 2 hours from Canberra, and conveniently located near the charming village of Taralga.
When you stay with us, you`ll get more than just a roof over your head. Our luxury accommodations are beautifully appointed with everything you need to feel right at home. No more miss-matched cutlery and plates - we provide two fully equipped houses for your complete enjoyment. And we`re pet-friendly for well-behaved and house-trained pets!
With panoramic vistas over the Abercrombie River Valley and the Great Dividing Range, you`ll be hard-pressed to find a better spot for relaxing afternoon sunsets and nights under the stars. Speaking of which, our Signature View is a real showstopper, complete with an outdoor hot tub for the ultimate in relaxation.
Our property is surrounded by 133 acres of natural bush land, making it a wildlife sanctuary with native critters right on our doorstep. When it comes to sleeping arrangements, our two-bedroom Lodge is the perfect place to rest your head. With a total of five (5) queen-sized beds and hotel-quality linens, you`ll feel snug as a bug in a rug.
The Lodge and The Barn are air-conditioned for your comfort during the warmer months, and we`ve got open fireplaces and electric blankets to keep you cosy when it`s chilly outside. Our dream kitchens are fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm, and our large lounge and living areas are perfect for curling up in front of the fire with a good book or movie.
We`ve got plenty of outdoor spaces to explore, including a main undercover courtyard with a large BBQ and outdoor table, deck chairs, and even multiple swing chairs for those lazy afternoons. If you`re feeling competitive, head through to our separate Games Room for some table tennis, pool, or chess - indoor or outdoor.
For those looking for an adventure, we have three bushwalks on the property, ranging from a 30-minute introduction walk down to our dam and back to a 1-hour trek down to the Abercrombie River via the boundary fence. And if bushwalking isn`t your thing, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy in the Taralga area, from 4x4 driving to wildlife spotting to star gazing or visiting The Taralga Wildlife Park.
If you are bringing your pet with you, be sure to let us know first as additional cleaning fees apply for pets, and we don`t allow aggressive or unsocial animals on-site.
So what are you waiting for? Book your stay at Abercrombie Ridge today and experience the ultimate in luxury, relaxation, and adventure that your whole family can enjoy, all while being close to Taralga.
Upon your arrival to Abercrombie Ridge! Head through the main gate off Taralga Road, follow the driveway down to the first gate. Be sure to check-in at `The Quarter`s.
From there, we`ll introduce ourselves and show you to your accommodation and give you the grand tour.
Everything you need to know about the houses can be easily found in the Compendium on each of the kitchen tables when you arrive, alternatively you and your guests can visit our online Guest Access and Welcome Pack which will be sent you after your booking has been confirmed.
We want to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you happen to encounter any issues during your stay or notice any breakages, please don`t hesitate to let us know within the first 24 hours.
While we do live on the property, we like to give our guests their privacy. You`ll typically only see us at check-in and when we introduce you to your accommodation. However, we`re always available to answer any questions you may have or offer recommendations on activities in the area.
Just a heads up, we do have some furry friends on-site. Our two Kelpie puppies, Jackson and Mitchell, and our two cats, Minx and Rosi, are always around and love a good cuddle. Just be sure not to feed the Kelpies human food as they have a strict diet.
We hope you enjoy your stay with us and please feel free to reach out if you need anything at all!
Abercrombie Ridge is located about 26kms from Taralga and 70kms from Goulburn.
We recommend bringing all the essentials, including food and alcohol before leaving town, ands don`t forget to top up on fuel before leaving town as we`re quite remote!
While you`re here, there are plenty of things to do in the local area. You can visit Taralga Wildlife Park or Wombeyan Caves, enjoy a meal at Laggan Pantry, The Argyle Inn or the Sports Club (where all the locals go), or grab a drink with friends at The Taralga Hotel or Laggan Brewing Co. If you`re interested in history, the Taralga Historical Society has some interesting relics on display.
For the adventurous, there are also some great places to visit nearby, such as Mayfield Gardens, Abercrombie National Park, and Jenolan Caves, as well as our neighbouring towns of Crookwell, Goulburn, and Oberon – all great towns worth exploring, be sure to see what our beautiful region has to offer!
You`ll need a car to get around as Abercrombie Ridge is in remote country NSW. All of the major attractions within the area are about a 30-60 drive away so it`s important not to run out of fuel leaving town, we suggest filling up with fuel in Goulburn or Oberon.
If you`re planning on exploring the property, make sure to pack some closed walking shoes or trainers, and consider wearing long pants. We want you to be comfortable and safe while enjoying the beautiful views and scenery.
When visiting Abercrombie Ridge, it`s important to know that things work a little differently in the country than they do in the city.
Occasionally, satellite internet is a bit temperamental, especially during storms and other weather events. And with the electricity, if you turn on all the lights, the clothes dryer and the Bathroom heat lamps at the same time, you`re likely to trip the circuit breaker, but don`t worry - it`s easily sorted by turning off a few things and being mindful of what appliances you really do need on at the same time.
In the summer months, we`ve got air conditioning to help keep you cool. Just remember to conserve power by only using it when the windows and doors are closed and you`re actually inside the house. And in the cooler months, we`ve got plenty of wood for the indoor fireplace to create a cozy atmosphere.
Please advise us first before lighting a fire! Outdoor fires unfortunately are not permitted on windy days or during total fire bans.
Just a note, we spend months each year cutting and splitting wood for our indoor fireplaces, please do not burn our split wood in any of the outdoor firepits. If you`re feeling adventurous, you`re welcome to use our outdoor firepit, we`re happy to show you were you can get timber to burn outside.
Each stay is subject to terms and conditions; these can be found in the ‘Welcome Pack’ on the table when you arrive.
