Clean. Quiet. Centrally located near restaurants, harbor and lighthouse. Friendly, helpful owner/manager. Lights outside of room were very bright at night. There was a round toilet seat on an elongated bowl which reflects a need for more attention to detail, such an easy and inexpensive fix.

The guy at check in was super friendly and helpful. We booked last minute and checked in around 9pm. Room was clean and comfy. Pretty basic but great for the night.

Foghorn too loud

Foghorn kept me awake all night. Every 5 to9 seconds, sounded like a "call waiting" tone. Not extremely loud but enscessent. Will not stay in this area again. Hotel nice, woth the exception of a fridge and micro wave, very littke 3lse. No kleenexs or blow dryer.

Anniversary getaway

We stayed 2 days while we explored the Redwoods. Room was clean, front staff was nice. It was a basic room but it had everything you need. It was close to restaurants and the beach.

Great Gateway Hotel to the Redwoods

The room and bed were comfortable. We stayed on a Thursday night, which meant a totally full parking lot (good for the owners!). Even with the crowds, it was still quiet overnight. No food at the hotel, but there's a fantastic brewery and restaurant nearby (Seaquake Brewing) and a coffee spot a few blocks away from the water and west of the hotel.

Once is enough

Clerk was nice and accommodating. Room had 2 beds. One had hair in it. Bathroom has more than its fair share of mold. The nicest thing that can be said is - the door locked.

Great location and good price.

The hotel was very good for the price. It was very clean and well maintained. I had a room closest to L street and it was fairly noisy and may bother a light sleeper (not me). The location is perfect. Great area to walk to the beach and the tourist center.
