My family and I absolutely loved our stay here. It was peaceful, and felt like a cozy home environment. The staff is amazing and they were helpful, kind and very welcoming.
Old school motel for a great price and comfortable stay. Joy greeted us at check in and was helpful with area suggestions. The room was very clean and comfortable. Not much curb appeal but very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. I would absolutely recommend if you are in Cortez!

Wonderful staff, plenty of parking, clean rooms, pet friendly, and a wonderful location.
The location is perfect, staff was extremely accommodating and courteous, and the grounds were clean. Overall, this place gives you that perfect feel of home and vacation, all at the same time. I highly recommend this location.
Motel is family-run. Joy and "Dad" made us feel like we were at home. While the motel is old-style, it is comfortable and CLEAN. Joy has added some touches to make each room interesting. The room we had was spacious and there were plenty of chairs and benches to sit outside. We enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables to eat breakfast and lunch. There are several choices for breakfast, including fresh fruit, which one doesn't often find except at more expensive chain hotels. If we pass through again, we will DEFINITELY stop and stay here.
JOY, who received our reservation was wonderful. She really worked hard to get our room ready and even called to see when we would be arriving. This is an old property that is family owned, they really appreciated our business.
Everything worked as expected during our short visit.
The room was spotless. However when you come into the room it opens right up into the bathroom. It is a bit dated and there was no cable tv. Otherwise it's fine for an overnight sleep.
First, our room was spotless. Check-in and out was fast and efficient. The room was large with 2 queen beds, a table and 2 chairs, TV, fridge, etc.. The shower water pressure was perfect and the towels were not small flimsy some budget motels use. They were fluffy and bright white. The owners live at the motel and take great pride in their property. It reminded me of the motels my family would stay at when I was a kid on road trips. Great memories.
Great stay due to owners hospitality. Joy works hard to cater to her guests.

This little motel has one huge asset: the owners. They are working hard to improve this property. The rooms are clean and lovely, the office is delightful, and you honestly feel like they knew you were coming and they really welcome you. There are some run-down areas outside (not the rooms!) but they already have plans in place to improve them. I would ALWAYS vote to give my travel dollars to good local owners who take pride in their property and are genuinely welcoming. I recommend the Sleeping Ute Mountain Motel.
