The staff at the hotel were excellent and keen to help, although the young staff in the restaurant lacked guidance on occasions so that service was a bit disjointed at times. Food cooked in the kitchen was excellent and reasonably good value. The buffet breakfast was poor and surely staff could bring tea and coffee to the table? Having to trek back and forth for a cup of tea at a time was a challenge for many older guests. The hotel seems to be suffering from wanting to expand rapidly whilst not addressing some areas of cleanliness and outdated rooms. Our room was bizarre, with a bathroom in the room which was irritating at best and a loudly dripping shower kept us awake some nights. The walls were scratched and marked and generally tired, although it was all pretty clean. The restaurant loved a mirror but these are obviously not regularly cleaned and so were smeared and there were many cobwebs and dust on the many strange light fittings in all the communal areas. The office, which opens off the entrance foyer, was filthy so perhaps keep the door shut or even give it a clean? This is a pleasant hotel but please don't let greed expand it until it just becomes a holiday park.

Lovely hotel and great staff. Ideal for a quiet and relaxing stay. St Austell town has limited facilities- no shops, bars or restaurants to speak of. Charlestown and Par -both nearby have many bars and restaurants.

Damage and broken furniture in the lodge. Most light bulbs need replacing. Reported multiple problems about the lodge to the receptionist, told to email. These should have been put right during maintenance inspections. Cobwebs in all the rooms and very dusty. All outside lighting is very poor and switched off after 11 pm.

Such an amazing place to stay. We chose a woodland lodge and it was amazing. It had everything you needed from fridge freezer dishwasher and washing machine with drying facilities for those that like the amenities and options of self catering but on top of that, the whole site has access to the main hotel which offers food and room service no matter what accommodation you choose. At the main hotel there are options for dining and drinking out, outdoor games, light musical entertainment on some days or you can enjoy walking the extensive grounds. The lodge also has towels and bedding, which was regularly refreshed and cleaned by staff. The also have a fantastic spar with various treatments, an access for all infinity pool, towels provided, tennis courts and a gym. The site gardens were beautiful and well maintained by ground men which made the site a beauty peaceful place for an excellent break. I would definitely recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
