We stayed at this hotel as a stopping point enroute to Killarney from Dublin, and we stayed at a Leonardo in Dublin which was excellent, but this is far from that experience. The staff are helpful and courteous, and we had dinner and breakfast in the hotel which was good. The hotel itself is an old building and therefore does not have any air-conditioning or thermostat controls in the rooms. It was warm, and I can't imagine what this place would be like during summer. There is no place to park the car outside of the hotel entrance to unload, so we found this inconvenient. Only after checking in we were informed of parking off-site in the under ground lot at Lapp's Quay €12/night. Elevators were out of order so we had to use the elevator from another hotel which took some time to figure out. Walking down Oliver Plunkett from the hotel to the English Market was disgusting with feces in doorways, alleys were homeless shelter. Unfortunate for them, but we did not experience any of this elsewhere in Ireland or Northern Ireland. This is the main reason I have 2 stars.

Nice Hotel in Cork

The Leonardo in Cork offers a comfortable stay with a very helpful front staff. The breakfast was outstanding. The hotel is easily within walking distance of shopping and dining options.

We picked this for the location, price & cleanliness. These things were fair. The service wasn’t the best, had a hard time figuring out and getting answers regarding parking. The room service was fast but they kept forgetting things. There is some kind of shelter next door after it gets loud at night and constant noise where people have yo ring a buzzer on an intercom to get it. It kinda bothered our sleep when we left the window open for air. It seemed a little scary if you were walking alone but we didn’t do that too much. The breakfast was ok. I would have probably just ate out more if I knew ahead of time.

Excellent staff and location. The full Scottish breakfast was quite a treat. The lounge/bar is open past midnight. Lovely city views overlooking River Lee. Just blocks from the bustling city centre of Cork. Jus blocks from the Kent Train Station.

TV in room was not a Smart TV thus could not stream internet (eg Netflix). Temperature of shower water would occasionally go scoulding hot (I assume when someone in adjoining room used tap or toilet). Window opening was tiny thus limited free air.
