The entire property is steeped in history and was formerly the manor house of the renowned Theotoki family. This particular building was once an old stone storage house, which is over 200 years old. It has been in the process of renovation for the past 30 years and has been recently finished in June 2019. The village of Xanthates is situated in centre of Northern Corfu, providing an ideal base to explore the beautiful scenery of this part of the island. The village has 2 minimarkets, a local bakery and a playground in the central square of the village, all within a short walk of the house. It is serviced by the Roda-Acharavi bus line which stops directly opposite the house and which commutes to Corfu town and neighbouring seaside villages. The village of Roda is located just a 5-minute drive away (5.5km) and hosts a variety of excellent restaurants, cafes, bars and taverns as well as ATMs, pharmacies, a doctor’s surgery and supermarkets. Acharavi, the centre of the municipality, is just a 10-minute drive (7.5km) from the house and offers additional amenities and a lively atmosphere. Both villages provide the opportunity to rent vehicles, boats, scuba diving trips as well as many more activities. The beautiful beaches of Roda and Almyros are a 5- and 13-minute drive respectively, while Corfu town lies 32km away.

A spacious veranda provides panoramic views of the spectacular countryside and ancient olive groves and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy Corfu's stunning sunsets. The house is surrounded by lush gardens growing a variety of vegetables, grape vines, fruit trees and a very ancient olive tree thought to be around 1,500 years old! The rooms are spacious and air-conditioned and include a modern and fully equipped kitchen. The tap water is pure spring water which runs from the nearby Xanthates spring. Additionally, the property has ample parking space as well as an outdoor shower.
